I just can't believe what I saw. Mahmood has always been my favourite - I've been following him since years and he's definitely the most contemporary choice - but I never thought he could win. Seeing him on Eurovision? Unbelievable.

Wut? Italy had so many beautiful songs! Loredana, Irama, Ultimo, Federica & Shade! And they send this?

Last place for now.

So far Italy is the best (if he decides to go to Eurovision) but the problem is that it is a weak year so far!

Re: ITALY 2019

Well, I think Loredana should have been handed the trophy on a diamond encrusted platter after what she achieved tonight with her performance. I've made that probably clear enough. Mahmood though was my 4th favourite from this amazingly strong Sanremo and I really love Soldi. There's something about it that's super mysterious and it's such a jam. I didn't realize what the song was about though and how dark it is. I feel a bit bad for initially describing it as sexy (as it's really not when you listen to the lyrics) but it's certainly incredibly catchy. I think it could work very well at Eurovision. The clapping bit during the chorus could really catch on. If it goes to Eurovision, I'd have a new number one of the year, probably hand over my 12 (I'd say it deserves it) and support Italy this year. The bitter taste is still gonna be there though thinking of just what could have been. Seeing Mahmood win this is bittersweet. Very happy for him... but Loredana was there with THAT song dammit:cry: Still, go Mahmood!

I just wanted to say also that Sanremo is such a special thing. Before the unpleasant shocker tonight, my heart was really warmed by well, almost everything. I wish my country had a show as legendary as Sanremo. I was jelly basically the whole way through. Italians certainly do it best (except when it comes to voting for blue haired legends). Grazie for tonight x

Thread title has been changed, and the poll is up - but do we have any confirmation yet that he's going to accept?

Not yet. Someone has gotten a little over excited it seems, sorry for this

I don't like the lyrics, but I do like the song. This year I haven't listened to anything of Sanremo, so it's my first reaction, and it's pretty positive because it got instantly stuck in my head  xsing volevi solo soldi, soldi... *clap clap* xsing
