Re: ITALY 2016

How was it split last year?

Was it changed as a result of Il Volo winning based hugely on the televote? I'm guessing they don't want a repeat scenario

As already said, last year it was the same: 40% televote, 30% experts jury, 30% "popular jury". While in 2013 and 2014 was 50/50 (televote/experts jury).

Actually, all the rules are the same, the only exception is the number of participants (last year 16, then became 20) and the fact that we'll have a saved song among 5 eliminated ones.

I don't think they didn't want that scenario. Il Volo entered Sanremo to win and Rai has been actually glad 'cause they are a project born in Rai, through "Ti lascio una canzone" :D

Umm, on the contrary it would make sense if they would want to repeat. Afterall, they got the winning situation from televote and they should have nothing to complain about the song or the way they choose it.

Re: ITALY 2016

I thought the SR result this year through the 40/30/30 system was very fair.It delivered the right top 5 for me.From a personal point id of rather seen Malika Ayane or Annalisa win, but Il Volo served up a televote powerhouse.I thought Malika Ayane gave easily the best delivery and song and the jury would have her top. They did and even with a low televote she made the podium/top3.Nek,Annalisa and Chiara all did well with the juries and televoters (rightly) and filled the other top spots.
So the voting system and contemporary line up gave a world class top 5 and delivered the ESC televote winner.Id say that was a system to stick with.
I do think 15 was a very strong SR though. From an outsider to Italy it was the strongest iv have seen for a long time.
The key question for next year is can Conti get a line up as strong?.With RAI moving ESC up to RAI1 maybe they would be happy with a slightly weaker SR next year, but one that delivers a win for a big Italian star to boost the interest in ESC?.

I know Alessandra Amoroso has gone to Latin America promoting at the moment and she doesnt need to do SR,but she has the class to win if she enters,

I almost totally agree. I just fear we're going to mess it all up again with a new show, it seems that the second-time-formula hasn't been paying off in Italian TV in the last decades.

Don't know if it has been said here before, but Nicola Caligiare, Italy's HoD, is part of the new reference group for Eurovision. I guess RAI is really invested in the ESC now!

Re: ITALY 2016

First rumours about participants in Sanremo 2016.

Loredana Errore is seriously rumoured to be there, while the emerging duo Benji&Fede appears as another possibility.

Sister Cristina (yes, her...) has made a statement in which she'd like to take part in Sanremo - but doesn't 100% like Eurovision concept. (Anyway, seems that she's in the need of a comeback, she didn't really do the breakthrough after The Voice...)

In what respect does she not like the Eurovision concept?

She said: "Yeah, I saw it. I think it's wonderful that there is a festival like this, in which different ethnic nations bring their experience and their reality together with the other. I love that this happens through the music! I like a little less the concept of the competition, unless it is always seen only as a way to participate in a nice intercultural moment like this!".

Re: ITALY 2016

The concept of competition? San Remo has that concept too
But from that it seems she likes the ESC though. If she were to win San Remo I think she would participate.

Re: ITALY 2016

If Sister Cristina wins a Sanremo im entering next year. The juries will make 100% certain she doesnt trouble the podium.Loredana Errore could be possible.Sony might be looking to re-launch her career. She drifted away after the success of "Pioggia di comete".I also think Sony would want to get Guisy Ferreri back to SR if they can to push her after the success of Roma-Bangkok.I dont think we will get a featuring Baby-K though:lol:
Warner had most of their big artists in the last few years so i have no idea who they will be pushing this year.

Yeah, I didn't get why the competition in Sanremo is ok but not on the Eurovision stage XD

Meh. Meh. Meh. If she goes to SR, I also want Immanuel Casto in. Otherwise I'm going to blow out RAI. Are we a laic and secular country or not? She can't even sing.

Re: ITALY 2016

And the x-factor? What was the concept of this format then? A round of friends having a cup of cappuccino?:mrgreen:
She doesn't seem to be very consistent in her views of concepts in all of those festivals/formats she has taken/wants to take part in.
Or is it something else that she doesn't like about the ESC?

Re: ITALY 2016

I suppose to some concept becomes about reputation and how things feel and appear. The whole mood and atmosphere of the event in question. They may technically share the same goal in mind but their execution feel light years apart. That's all I can think of because while they may all seem the same on the outside they are different in other ways and that makes a big difference to some xshrug

And frankly I can see why Sanremo would garner more respect from some people then Eurovision. On the outside to the naked eye it lacks the appearance of a tacky circus and presents itself with more seriousness even if its not actually true. Sanremo still looks like its all about the song (again even if its actually not) while Eurovision seems less and less so with every passing year and are barely trying to hide it xscared

In the end The Voice and X-Factor are pretty much the exact same thing but they present themselves in a way that brings completely different opinions.
