I'm sick of this conspiracy theory about juries desperately trying to keep Italy in the contest. Last year, they sent a very good jazz entry, which always had a strong chance with the juries. It's not as if they sent "I'm a Jocker" and came top.

As you (and the rest who are 'sick and tired') know the truth?

EBU is desperate to keep Italy in the contest. No, their entry last year wasn't a joke entry, but #1 material in ESC 2011? Oh well... each to their own.

And haven't your heard? The EBU is trying to get rid of the UK which is why they put them in the bottom 5 last year.

I'm glad that every year there are still entries like Per Sempre or Kuula that some people call "snoozefest" or "borefest", otherwise the whole ESC would become a carnavalesque cacophony offering nothing more than an endless boom-boom & bling-bling. Which would really bore me more, into a deep sleep. There is already more than enough uptempo noise at the ESC.

There were many good entries last year, but no single song really stood out. Seemed like the perfect time for the juries' keen interest in old-fashioned ballads to come to the fore.

No, I don't know for definite either way, but nor does anyone else. I see no need to jump to conclusions just because some fans of a traditionally pop-oriented contest don't like jazz.

I am a big ballad fan and is among my favorites this year. I just find Per Sempre incredibly dull and anti-climatic. No need to throw all ballads into one bucket.

The juries didn't put France in their Top 10 yet you still complain that they love it when in reality they didn't. Televoters gave France only 14 points less then the juries, so telvote & juries agreed. You may want to be consistent with your claims.

But then, we don't know what you consider pretentious.

Fair enough. Still I don't get how one could think that Per Sempre is a what you call "snoozefest" or "borefest" compared to many other ballads. The way the story, the emotions, the drama build up sounds so much more interesting, different from a more classic/standard type of ballad like Kuula or Quedate Conmigo. The poetic, somewhat cryptic Italian language only makes it better. This is easy for me to see, so I don't get it.

New song is good too and it does not need to be translated to English as it sounds just fine in Italian.
