Yes basically there is no other rule than the brodcaster have to present an artist and a song never heard anywhere before october.
Thye have every right to do anything, change the song, change the artist, getting thousand of euros by sms and televoting and declares the song they want as the winner

L'amore e femmina is clearly not a winner. I can't see it winning this competition or even reach the top 8. It sounds too generic, too vanilla (while not a bad song at all)
Per Sempre on the other hand has IT to win it all. It smells, looks, feels like a winner. A wonderfully well composed piece. Both delicate and dramatic, but never too much.

I really hope they don't change back because this is FAR more enjoyable that "Per Sempre". It was beautifully sung no quesiton, but a total non entity as far as the melody goes. This will perform much better with televoters and as the juries will support Italy no matter what... I notice the odds on Italy have skyrocketed aswell.

Forum's poll says otherwise. But it doesn't really matter: even if it wins, it would be a swedish victory, not italian one.

The forum poll is not really a good tool to use to judge the change though. Too many upset members decided to vote 0 just cause they're pissed, not because the song is bad.

I'm sick of this conspiracy theory about juries desperately trying to keep Italy in the contest. Last year, they sent a very good jazz entry, which always had a strong chance with the juries. It's not as if they sent "I'm a Jocker" and came top.
