not going to be my favourite song, but my god i just think its an amazing performance. i didnt feel that last years song from italy truly deserved top 2, let alone top 10 placing, but it would be a crime for this song to miss the top 10!

I have a sansation next year we'll all be heading for Rome A beautiful and powerful song, I've never doubted Italian music ... 12pts!

I wouldn't be surprised (at all) if ESC 2013 will be in Roma or Milano next year. It would be a totally deserved win for Italy...

I just hope that they can afford to organize an ESC.

I must say that I'm very dissappointed if the news are true and even a part of the song is in English. Italian is one of those languages, which quite much everyone loves. So there would be no reason to use English...

Italy confirms Sanremo song for Nina Zilli

The Italian broadcaster, RAI, and the management of the artist Nina Zilli confirm that the song that will represent them at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest will be the Sanremo song Per Sempre in an international adaptation.

Italy's comeback at the Eurovision Song Contest last year in Düsseldorf was very much celebrated as they came close to winning when Raphael Gualazzi and Madness Of Love placed 2nd, only behind Azerbaijan.

This year Italy bring us Nina Zilli, a unique singer who comes from Piacenza in the North of Italy, and who defines herself as a music lover, with a special affection for the 60s and 70s.

Nina Zilli participated in the 2012 Sanremo Festival with the song Per Sempre which served for her to be chosen as the Italian performer for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Now the management of Nina and Italian Television RAI confirm that in Baku she will perform Per Sempre (Forever) in a Eurovision edit and partially translated into English. Right now they are working in this new version which we'll be able to offer to you very soon.

The song, included in her new album L'Amore È Femina (Love Is Female), is written by Roberto Casalino and Nina Zilli herself. Here you can check out the original Italian version:

I've no idea why Italy insists for the 2nd year in a row to go for a random mix of languages, rather then just Italian which is considered by everyone a language to make music in.

Latest rumors are that RAI broadcaster has already sent the final version of "Per sempre" to EBU headquarters. Now it's up to them to release the song to all of us. My guess is that they will release all the songs at once, after the deadline. How did they behave previously?

is the choice to bring back the orchestra that of the broadcaster, or of the EBU??
