Re: ITALY 2012 - Nina Zilli - Per sempre

It's not because they are superior or something like that, BUT these languages are international, other countries sometimes send songs in these languages while they are not their official languages. Romania used Italian several times, and other countries too... If even them start singing in English, then what to expect?

By the way, Roberto Casalino answered me back in facebook:
(I think he's not familiar with the situation anyway)

...I think Nina is going to sing in English 'cause Italy usually sings in English at Eurofestival. But I still don't have news about it...I even don't know if she's gonna sing PER SEMPRE or the next single....

Ok, I get your point, however to me that's not important. I think all languages should have their spot in ESC, no matter how big.

Lol @ Roberto's answer  it's clear he got no clue about ESC. Italy usually sings in English? Like when apart from the partly English last year? That was their first entry since the language rules have been changed even.

This is what eurovision.tv says:

Now the management of Nina and Italian Television RAI confirm that in Baku she will perform Per Sempre (Forever) in a Eurovision edit and partially translated into English. Right now they are working in this new version which we'll be able to offer to you very soon.

I'm glad to see that word there: partially! At least, keep it partially in Italian!

I think it's a fair compromise to do Italian/English. It worked in 2011 and even though I didn't care for either of their entries I think they have a fair shot making the Top 10.

Agree, it's not good, but it could be worse.

Hopefully it's atleast 50/50 or more in favor of Italian than English.

Oh they'll be in the top. 10, this (and the UK granpa) will be the jury-wanks of 2012.

People said the same thing about France 2011 and that even didn't make the Top 10 with the juries so we don't know what's gonna happen.

But EBU are maybe not as afraid of losing France as Italy which they lost for over 10+ years?

Back to our conspiracy theories. Sometimes I wonder why you even bother watching the show. You don't trust juries, you don't trust EBU, you believe it's all about politics....

I guess we will see in May, it's pointless at this point to anticipate something like that.

But I won't be rooting for this one, I just can't get into it.

No, I don't find them very trust-worthy... so sorry 'bout that.

And it's about the money (not exactly politics), they WANT Italy in, it's simple.

LOL

A loss of any country is a major blow to the EBU, especially the Big 5. Just look how much they tried to grovel for Poland to stay

This is exactly what I mean.

And when they finally got Italy back, and added another "big"-contributor country, they won't let them go that easily..

LOL! xrofl3 I don't think so.
Trying to squeeze money out of Italy, in this time and age, would be a desperate effort.
