Please keep discussion in this thread specific to Eden Golan and her song, Israel's (potential) participation in Eurovision 2024 and discussions or remarks from other countries and organisations about Israel's participation.

Any further discussion of a political or humanitarian nature not relating to specifically Israel in Eurovision 2024 needs to go into the politics sub-forum. Thank you!

She is absolutely AMAZING! It’s the ONLY song this year that is - in my subjective opinion - perfect in song and staging combined. Both absolutely flawless.
I also don’t get why people use generic as an insult. Half the (winner) songs of the past 20 years were generic. It just means it’s accessible to a larger audience.
And the verse after the first chorus, when the beat starts, sounds like out of a Beyoncé song.
If Pink sung this song it would certainly chart in the US.
The criticism here is almost only from Israel-haters who support Palestine who are trying to find anything at all to criticize Eden.
If this goes to the final (and I am assuming it does) I‘m spending my votes on her.

They are sooo lucky that they have Eden, she's the only thing about this that makes it somewhat competitive. The song and staging are so damn lackluster. All this drama for this performance, are you kidding me...

Anyone else getting "I Won't Break" vibes from the staging... like, they deliberately made it silly to sabotage their own chance of making the final and making a political stunt of it, while making it credible enoug to seem like it's meant to be artistic, it's actually intentionally made to be unappealing. Hopefully we'll only have to see it once.

Tumblr, mostly.
I hate the song, but yeah, her voice is what carries it. It'll be top ten, and israel will have deserved it for their efforts.

The act is kind of bad though. Including dancers that move asynchronously with the instrumentation is a daft choice, moreso that the gestures looks like they're loading rifles. o_O

I don’t care what the haters say - this feels like winner material to me. I know it won’t win (100% certain) but Eden deserved it.
Her vocals are perfect and the staging is perfect. It’s such a beautiful song, still my favourite this year. I‘m keeping my fingers crossed for the best possible result!

I love this song, this entry and I really like Eden, it's my second place this year. I'll vote for it in the SF and in the Final. However, I don't think that I want it to finish first, for the sake of the contest. I'm afraid that we will face a meltdown if it does.

Agreed here. I don’t want it to win, I don’t want Eden a winner with such a backlash. Think about how Loreen must have felt last year, so many people wanted Käärija to win and were pretty outspoken about it.
That’s why I hope for the best possible outcome. Which would be top 10 for me.

Despite I kinda like the song, and think Eden is the best vocalist of the year, I'm aware that an Israeli win would kill the Eurovision Song Contest.
Hope juries/countries won't feel the urge to reward Israel just for "being there" or whatever

You all can be rest assured that Israel won't win. I am pretty sure the jurors will blank it (for the wrong reasons).

Because I was looking back at 2021's results and I realize they got a pretty poor showing of the televoting and that's not even with the conflict going on. I do blame the early slot though. So if Israel does quality this time and draws either 1st half or producer's choice, I believe the showrunners will put Israel in the least favourable slot.

I know Israel supporters would likely to go all-out by voting this time to show solidarity, but I am not sure if that would be enough.
All I am hoping is a qualification and an added bonus for a good top 10 placement.

Once the results are released we will be able to tell how many jurors voted for political reasons. Looking at the last three years an overall performance like this would be rarely tanked by the jurors.
Looking at last years ballad / slow type of pop songs we had Estonia which only 1 juror placed at the bottom and Switzerland which 2 jurors placed at the bottom, Italy had 0.
On the other hand we had Let 3 with 49 Last Places, Albina (Kelmendi) with 22, Lord of the Lost with 17, Blanka with 13, Mae Muller with 11, Käärija with 10, Luke Black with 9, Pasha Parfeni with 9, Joker Out with 8.
Whats fascinating is that the super artsy and (for viewers at home) inaccessible Eaea only had 1 juror place it last.

In 2022 we had the extremely dire songs from Azerbaijan (which even got 0 telepoints in the semi), Switzerland and Australia. Excluding the Armenian vote we had Azerbaijan with 5 Last jury Places, Switzerland with 4 and Australia with 2. Some countries votes are missing since they were cheating, but overall the juries focused on putting Trenulețul, In corpore sano, Fulenn, Llámame on their last places. Even Kalush Orchestra had more last places.

In a normal year Hurricane would at max receive 1 or perhaps 2 juries putting it last. Assuming Windows95man makes it to the final we basically have this years Let3 for the juries. There will also be other performances the juries wouldnt like in a normal year.

Surely a podium finish. I can't see this lower than top 5 and I think 2nd or 3rd arr very realistic possibilities.

2021 had a poor showing in the televote because there was too much genre competition. There was 8 girly pop bop songs and they all split the vote
