Please keep discussion in this thread specific to Eden Golan and her song, Israel's (potential) participation in Eurovision 2024 and discussions or remarks from other countries and organisations about Israel's participation.

Any further discussion of a political or humanitarian nature not relating to specifically Israel in Eurovision 2024 needs to go into the politics sub-forum. Thank you!

I'm also satisfied that the EBU publicly approved of the lyrics before the song was even released. That way every argument against it is not justified and the Belarusgate was successfully avoided.
Yeah, the lyrics ended up being almost nonsense.

Like in the chorus:
"Every day, I'm losin' my mind
Holdin' on in this mysterious ride
Dancin' in the storm, I got nothin' to hide
Take it all and leave the world behind
Baby, promise me you'll hold me again
I'm still broken from this hurricane"

Okay, so first she constantly finds herself in a confusing storm, and then moments later the storm belongs to the past. It hardly makes sense. And she "got nothin' to hide"? What would she hide? It's just a mixture of catch phrases and clichés, isn't it?

The props is upgraded version of Ukraine 2009 and Latvia 2024, but not even close to the Hardkiss. I like the idea behind the song and solidarity with Israeli civilians. I've got very mixed feelings about her

Her vocals are very powerful, as expected. She is probably getting my SF vote.

I am glad they are taking what is there from the music video, which I expected this is the direction they should be going.
Guess they already had the staging all planned out when they shot the music video.
Nothing too elaborated, simple and classy would do. Can't wait to see the entire performance.

Why nonsense? These are typical messy relationship break-up popsong lyrics. Of course they are open for interpretation but they are not nonsensical.
Random catch phrases, empty clichés, incomplete metaphors. If that's the alternative to political lyrics, I might prefer political lyrics.

But you're right that it's "typical". There is plenty of even worse lyrics in this year's competition.

I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you
My love
Do you remember us?
From the first date?
It was beautiful, it was crazy

I love you
I don't know why
I replay the scene
But it's always the same ending that starts again
You don't hear my sorrow
What do we do with it?
Do you love me?
Or not?

Nonsense from Cyprus:
"Waking up in the morning and I'm, I'm feeling like ooh-la-la
Now I know that your heart and your mind's on the line, la-la
I can see it in your eyes that you don't like to be this way
I know that you're fighting back, guys like you can't be changed"

Broken metaphors from Georgia:
"I see it in the air, I see it in the air.
I’m rising from these ashes like a phoenix, yeah.
You know I’ll be there.
You know that I’ll be there.
We’re running through these ashes like a firefighter."

Noosh 101, William Lee Adams and his wiwibloggs, eurovoxx and Eurovision Kennedy bloggers decided all of a sudden without any statement to quit with boycotting Israel and even though were ignoring whole time and probably liking many hateful tweets and stuff on twitter, they decided not to own their own statement and now they are reacting to rehearsals of Israel. Like that is so unprofessional, they decided to politise this music contest and without fact checking before making such choice and now they think people forget

LOL! I didn't bother with these virtue-signalling hypocrites. If it's true, then I hope they are prepared for the wrath of the Pro-Palestine nutters.

Hi. Created an account to post my opinion on Israel because I think it deserves my opinion. I love the song and I am well aware that this is controversial. But I think it’s so beautiful. No, I am not from Israel and this is my own, unpaid opinion. And I think everyone should be able to comment on liking it without getting attacked. Preferences are subjective and differ. I hope Eden won’t face hate in Malmö and I hope they are able to prevent booing. I voted for it in the poll and gave her my 12 points.
