Wow, there is so much going on in Feker libi with all the languages used but to me it's the stand-out choice. Rakata sounds like it would win the selection though. Roots is ok but that high-pitched chorus ruin it a bit. Savior In The Sound is clearly the safe choice here but would lack having a huge impact on the audience I think.

It's an amazing selection but I have truly conflicted feelings about its aspects. It's as if they want to put as many Eurovision cliches as possible and it irks me.

Well, my opinions on the songs, I'll do it in the rankings:

My fourth place - Savior In The Sound:
In my opinion, this is the best song out of the four, it's not too catchy, it's very easy to forget. A little boring, as mentioned, least of all the other four

My third place - Roots:

Yes, there is no doubt that this is a song especially for Neta, after all, the composer and producer of this song also created "Toy" and "Bassa Sababa". There is only one problem, the problem is that it will not go away! He is very catchy but, we have heard it already, there is nothing special about it.

My second place - Feker Libi:
I liked the combination with the Amharic language, this combination of the Reichel and Doron Medley era is very successful, but in my opinion a bit boring, the text too, not the best in the world

My First Place - Rakata:

In my opinion, this is the best song of the four, the Ethiopian music in the background on the text is also divided into Hebrew. Somewhat reminiscent of Greece 2005 with a mix of Neta's "banana".

And now, even though it's the best song, I think none of the contestants are in my first place either, a chance to qualify for the final. That's my opinion

A Bridge Too Far
Good selection of songs from Israel. One of them I think could be in for a top spot, two of them should have a decent finish I project for them and one of them could struggle, but it has pretty big upsides.

Feker Libi: 7,15
This sounds dated and far too messy to me. I get that it's likely to be seen as a good bop, because it takes that shape and form, but is it really? Nothing here is good, it's just a lot of everything. It does have a strong flow to it and nothing is objectionable. I have a very hard time predicting how this will be received. If this does come across as the solid bop it pretends to be, you can just tack on 0,3 points to the score I gave and this will place 10th or so.

Savior in the Sound: 7,25
Yeah this is just a pop ballad. Everything is perfectly decent here, production is okay, melody is okay, it's tried and trusted from start to finish. But yeah, a decent pop ballad isn't what you should be going for. We have a couple of those already and this one doesn't really present us with anything new. If she has perfect vocal control this will still just lose to stuff like Attention and Shaj and we still have like 25 songs left to be revealed. No, this is isn't the choice Israel should make.

Rakata: 7,35
I've heard better bangers than this one, but so far ESC 2020 doesn't have one so this seems like a very good choice right now. There are problems though and I it could just be me, but I'm kind of done with this song after a short two minutes. There's just nothing here that's even remotely interesting to me. I feel like the production is very messy with so many layers that don't really work together to be more than the sum of its parts. Every single element is just screaming at me all the time and they are all very basic. I find this song irritating. High rating is based on the melodic quality which I can't argue with. I know a lot of people don't listen like I do and simply like stuff like this, but I don't feel like this is really all that great.

Roots: 7,63
This is nice, melodies are there, production is lush and gives a lot of leeway for all the parts to shine. Dynamic range here is great, this song touches a lot of bases while flowing through them pretty well. Couple of points where you can do vocal tricks, lots of musical cues for some big visuals, the chorus is a solid break and hits hard. Good drop. Yeah, this is just some good stuff. Just send this and you're going to be among the dark horses I think.
EDIT: Have seen quite a lot of reactions now and the chorus tends to make people cringe. It doesn't for me, but I can't ignore that. They should edit that part to save the song then.

So basically Israel did themselves a favor here. Just evade Savior in the Sound and you have something to work with for a very good finish in Rotterdam. Feel like Rakata and Feker Libi leave a lot to be desired, but there's stuff you can work on there. Roots I think is the best option.

By the way, I realized that the song "Savior In The Sound" was originally submitted to Kobe Marimi last year, and because the committee remembered this song for affirmative approval, it approved it to be a contestant for the current year's song selection

1. Saviour In The Sound 8.5/10 I realise this is the basic one on offer here, but you know, sometimes I'm really basic when it comes to warm, comforting, uplifting Eurovision ballads that randomly burst into disco for about 20 seconds before ending. I really like this. The lyrics in the chorus are quite hypnotic as well.

2. Feker Libi 8/10 On second listen this one emerges as my favourite of the bops. It's just super cute and catchy. I can just imagine in my head how vibrant this will be on stage. I loved Golden Boy, so go figure. This is great too.

3. Rakata 7/10 This is fun. It's admittedly not my style at all but I get enjoyment from it, thanks in big part to Eden. All the ethnic elements add to that joy too.

4. Roots 2/10 Worst chorus ever. No. I don't care if the rest of the song is ok.

I want Saviour In The Sound or Feker Libi. Will settle for Rakata because RATATATAAAAAAAAAA but if I'm being honest, genre wise that one is less my kind of bop. I think Feker Libi might be the one here. It's the song I feel will give us Eden at her most charming. It's the cutest composition whilst also packing sass. I'd love Saviour In The Sound but I know that would disappoint people, so I'll let you pass on it. Just please not Roots. Please god, no.

It features English, Hebrew, Arabic and Amharic, I suppose they push that one to win.. But we will see if that happens in the end..

I really like this selection- just like Romania they will make a good choice no matter what and are bound to be top 10!
Glad that Israel decided they are in-it-to-win-it after last years official boycott of competing for the crown.

Wow. Imagine Kobe did "Savior In The Sound" instead, I got a feeling he would have done much better.

I like this selection and it's a lot of fun! Well, I only really like 2 of the songs. Savior is just a boring dirge and Roots' chorus is one of the biggest mood killers I've ever heard. I get that Israel just won on the power of being annoying, but no thanks. Rakata and Feker libi are both very nice songs though! Rakata is very Armenia/Turkey in the late 2000s while Feker libi is a fun song celebrating her roots. The only real problem that I have with the latter is the weird disco-esque pre-chorus which makes the sound feel dated a bit, but every entry kind of comes off that way here. Roots would be the best if it weren't for the baby voice chorus.

That all being said, I think Israel is gonna struggle getting into the final as all the entries come off as very fanwank entries. They're perfectly designed for the eurogay innercircle to stan, but these are all either dated or kind of cliched in a Eurovision sense (the biggest weakness of this selection) and I'm not sure the juries or Europe will really behind her. However, Eden does have charisma and other countries are actively killing their qualifiers in their NFs (see: Belarus) so she still has a chance. Please pick Rakata or Feker libi

It's an interlocking tool law, now imagine Eden making HOME

Urmm. No. LOL. That song can only be performed by Kobe. He made that song his. But it's still a rather mediocre song to be honest.

I notice all 4 Eden's songs are on Spotify! YAS!! And guess what, all 4 songs are currently on the top 5 of my personal curated ESC 2020 playlist. This show how strong these songs are (or how weak the rest of the entries are).

Tumblr, mostly.
Thank fuck that only Kobi can perform "Home". I'd rather never hear it ever again.

"OH LOOK we have this clearly troubled and fractured gay man who was heavily traumatised by bullies and desperately needs a therapist. Hear his song about the ordeals he had to endure. It sends him down a vortex of ugly crying and mental breakdowns EVERY time!".

Exploiting someone's mental health issues for personal gain. Home was/is EVIL.

Israel better come save us from the endless sea of (bad) ballads. They just need to send "Rakata" or "Feker Libi" or even "Roots" and I would go behind them for the win. Israel/Eden better bring it!!!
