i also prefer toy as a song, but because of the performance, eleni surpassed her. but hey they are 6th and 7th in my ranking, it's not like the difference is super big

toy is better than fuego as a song and as performance and i am glad it ranked better both in the televote and in the jury to leave no doubt over who was better :3 the fandom can suck all the lemons they want about it :3 netta won and still hasn't been forgotten :3

Toy was my 43rd in 2018 and I have it as one of the worst songs of the decade. Even attempting to express my disdain for it is futile, I'd have to invent a couple of new words, which is clearly not worth the time investment.

While Toy was mid-table, I had Fuego in the bottom 5 of my ranking so I'm glad the former won. More than the song in itself, I couldn't stand her voice at all , and even the dancing in the live performance wasn't enough to lift the song up for me.

Anyway, as long as they send Feker Libi or Rakata I don't think Cyprus will catch up to Israel in my ranking this year again.

I gave 40th place for "Fuego" and last place for "Toy".

I'm still not quite sure what I want to see win here. Savior in the Sound is nice but would probably struggle to stand out against the year's other midtempo ballads; Roots has easily my favourite verses of the selection but I'm really not sure about the vocal effects in the chorus; Feker Libi shifts all over the place in an interesting way but I don't much like the basic-retro-disco part of the chorus; and Rakata is perhaps the most cohesive package overall but doesn't have any one wow moment.

If I was pushed I'd probably rank them as something like Rakata > Roots > Feker > Savior, but it's all pretty close, and I think my favourite will come down to the live performances (which will probably be while I'm still asleep?). Whatever's chosen, there's at least some potential here... for once I don't care about what wins the NF quite so much as how it's performed. It'll be interesting to see!

I like Fuego a bit more, however I like (& I have downloaded) some of Netta's later releases which is not the case with Eleni xthink

i think my biggest problem with fuego is that just one listen of this gem

and boom yeah yeah fire dead in a ditch.

It's shocking to think that apparently Greece said no to her representing them with Vasilissa. It would have been one of the all time best Eurovision songs ever. Cyprus gain is their loss.

vasilissa could have been my #1 that year and one of my all time favorites as well. it's one of my favorite songs of the decade (not only eurovision ones).

As much as I love Oniro mou, their flop is what they deserve for rejecting such a gem.

It's going to be like 2.30am where I am and I don't think I can watch it 'live' without feeling like a zombie later at work. I hope Israel make a good choice.

Anyone know how long it's going to be? If it's 1 hour, I may take the risk and stay up for it.
