Wait, I don't understand nothing. Is she Finegold or Feingold?!

Wait, so has she actually been confirmed by some official source like IBA (or Eurovision.tv/EBU)? Adir provided us with some Israeli source in Hebrew confirming it I guess, is that source trustful?

Secondly, is her surname Finegold (according to wiki) or Feingold? xshrug

Thirdly, my main issue with acts coming from talent shows like Idol or the likes is that unless they haven't really released any particular material (and in this case she hasn't released even an album yet right?), it's kinda hard to actually judge. Yes, so she can sing/perform some covers well and she got a somewhat interesting vocals I must admit, but what does that really say? xshrug If an artist has some back catalogue of music we can atleast get a somewhat clue of what type of entry this act could actually end up with, now not so much and the few original songs she seem to have released aren't anything special either so if IBA has picked her based on what she released so far, then I'm not that hopeful and if they picked her solely on her vocals, but won't pay much attention to the actual entry, then I'm not that hopeful either xshrug

In the end of the day, if her material won't be anything good, I don't think it matters how well she can sing or perform xshrug As I stated before she reminds me a bit about Amandine (both vocally, musically and visually), and Amandine's tiny back catalogue of songs consisted of just one or a couple of decent ones (while the vast majority was meh), and in the end she ended up with a rather meh song that wasn't anything like the few good ones she released prior (and no singing or performing skills could save her).

Well, I don't agree with you and I'll answer to some of your question.
1 - Yes, Mei has one album, or maybe 2.
2 - As most of Israeli singers, it's WELL KNOWN none sing its real music (except Izabo 2012), so Sarit Hadad 2002 didn't sing a Mizrahi song as she normally does. So, even if we know her music, we can't never guess what kind of song she's gonna sing.
3 - from an Interview she had yesterday night she said "No way I'm gonna loose the finals, I'm gonna represent Israel in the best way" =)

Oh this girl has everything it takes, she is beautiful, charismatic, charming, energetic, her voice is amazing :)
Now it all comes to a song, if they choose wisely with a singer like that Israel can count on a Top-10 placing in the grand final.
I agree with A-Lister, talent shows winners usually don't go anywhere due to lack of good material to sing, but there's so much potential in this girl, let's hope the song will be amazing ;)

She didn't win "Israeli idol", she came 3rd. And actually we sent 2 singers from Israeli idol....Shiri Maimon - came 4th, Boaz Mauda - came 9th :)

I'll disagree with you in that if she is like Amandine, I will be happy. Her song last year was amazing.

so Ok, Harel Ska'at, we still got only 2 who follow their real music!

I was talking about this. :D

Personally I don't think our singers went too far out of their repertoire, at least not since 2007 or so, but yeah, you really don't know what Mei will bring since she has done several genres, so I can't wait! :D

It's not that important, winner or a finalist or just a participant, 90% of all these talent shows contestants have problems with getting good songs to sing.
I really hope it's not an issue this time, i really like the girl.
It'd be nice to listen to her own unique material if she has any available online.

She has a good voice + a good charisma.
Seems to be the right choice from Israel, now I hope for a good song.
