Sorry if I missed something but I was checking the Eurovision 2014 Page on Wikipedia and I saw that Israel officially is in Semi Final 2. Why is that?

The same religious celebration they've had other years, I guess.

It is the same holiday that made them withdraw here and then in the early years of Eurovision I think

Nope, the main reason is that the first semi is on independence day, and the day before is the national memorial day, so artists don't perform in that day of grief basically, so Israel is in semi 2 so it won't collide with general/jury rehearsals

Actually, no got that wrong. 2012 exceptional to the case, but in 2011 I am sure this was the case.

Moran Mazor was great in Malmö, but unfortunately she didn't qualify. 1 I hope will make it to the final this year!
