It's the sort of entry that will do what it's going to do regardless of its running order as its just so different and memorable. Just a shame we can get a 2nd half draw for a change. We're first half - I hope we get a slot between 11 and 13.
Look I don't really get non binary myself I respect what these individuals claim they are and use their pronouns just because that's the polite thing to doThis is not a provocative question, and not intended to be offensive or anything, but I REALLY dont get this:
How can someone say about themself I‘m a witch (and Bambie says this regarding her own identity, not just the stage persona), a witch, who is clearly and without any doubt a female figure and has always been female to the point that it became an female archetype for a whole feminist movement, and at the same time also say about themself: I‘m non-binary?!
you can‘t be and at the same time not be something. That‘s completely illogical. I would get it if they defined themself as genderfluid but that’s not the case.
I get Nemo‘s non-binary being themself, but with Bambie I‘m honestly lost.
I don't think there's a city other than Dublin that could meet the demands of a modern Eurovision?I am all in favour of Eurovision returning to the Emerald isle but for the love of god please not Dublin. I go away to escape London and our rip off prices thanks

However I think you're just looking into something that's just not there? If a man does goth magic it doesn't become wizardcraft all of a sudden
Bambie is a witch, hell I can be a witch and I'm a dull straight man
We are going back to millstreet lads, osterdahl can stay at homeI don't think there's a city other than Dublin that could meet the demands of a modern Eurovision?
A witch is just someone that practices witchcraft (malicious or hostile magic) yes the stereotype and general perception of witches is overwhelmingly female but it's not exclusively a thing for women nor is it especially feminine in any wayI don‘t think that trying to understand something excludes being respectful.
You would be a wizard or a sorcerer if you practice witchcraft. A witch is genuinly female.
I could also understand if Bambie said: I‘m a sorcerer because I identify as such. Or: I‘m non binary, but my stage persona is a woman.
But what puzzles me is that they - as far as I‘m aware of - identifies as two opposite concepts at the same time and that is just not possible. Thay are not Schrödingers cat.
And that is not trivial because if I call Bambie „they“, then I‘m denying their self proclaimed witchness - thus misgendering them.
If I accept her „witchness“ and call her „she“, I’m misgendering her again, because I would leave out her non-binary being.
You see? Even within the logic of Non-conformative genderroles there still HAS to be logic. Otherwise I cant talk about this person at all, even if I want to.
No, sorry, you’re wrong. A witch has always been exclusivly female. It‘s a female archetype. (Look it up at C.G. Jung or any relevant research about litterary iconography). Just saying it isn‘t, is no argument. Male performers of witchcraft are called differently (sorcerer, wizzard, even witcher - clearly marked with the male r-morpheme to differenciate) and the forms of witchcraft performed by males also differ largely from the traditional female forms.A witch is just someone that practices witchcraft (malicious or hostile magic) yes the stereotype and general perception of witches is overwhelmingly female but it's not exclusively a thing for women nor is it especially feminine in any way
same thing: how can a non -binary person be a queen? Thanks for proving my point!!#IrelandtruequeenofESC

Or tyrant and then we will leave with him on board the Nautilus 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.We could use something like "monarch" for Bambie and Nemo
sorry, doesn‘t convince me.Gay men can be queens, too though but yeah semantically, a queen and a witch are undoubtedly female connoted.
It wouldn't make sense to call Nemo "King of Eurovision" if they win on Saturday whilst using their chosen pronouns.
I just believe that non-binary can be fluid. Maybe that's why Bambje Thug can easily be both: non-binary an a witch.
