Even though I've watched the rehearsals a million times, my jaw was still on the floor!Whoever came out with that spectacular stage deserves a raise IMMEDIATELY! This Will be the most polarizing Song of this year's, so...good news for Ireland!
Finally a parent figure who loves Ireland! My mother's favorite in this semi!
Poland has both the moon and the masked dancers, though. Mr. Demon here was just wearing theatrical makeup. Also, anyone notice a strange "theme" of masked dancers, and the moon on the background, this year? This was the only entry to have both, so far, but there were plenty of the former especially.
yeah, that felt kinda forced. But I mean, it was also a very stupid question.Bambie at the qualifiers press is awfully CRINGE.
“What makes you special?”
“I’m queer”
I enjoyed the song and the performance, initially I really disliked it but it definitely grew on me. However, Bambie's whole persona seems extremely put on and fake from the "queerness" to the "activism". Everything seems extremely performative.yeah, that felt kinda forced. But I mean, it was also a very stupid question.
ON a different note the political "speech" and gesture was out of place imo. I know there will be people who will praise that, but honestly, it was very one-sided and shallow so it doesn't help the cause. I'm wondering if EBU will react to this in any way.
I mean that's pretty much a Gaga or Bowie style answer to such a question, so no judgement from me.Bambie at the qualifiers press is awfully CRINGE.

Which is perfectly in accordance to gender theory, where gender IS in fact seen as a contstruct that you have to perform to bring to reality. But that's an academic discussion. I totally get what you mean.I enjoyed the song and the performance, initially I really disliked it but it definitely grew on me. I was just thinking - it IS a political statement, which is not allowed, (especially what she said after your quote and the gesture she made) right? Or is that rule only applicable on stage or in parts that are broadcasted on TV? I'm not quite sure.Is it when someone from Aftonblade asked about the reason behind the Ogham writings "ceasefire" and "freedom for Palestine"?
Bambie responded:
"It was very important to me because I am pro-justice and pro-peace. Unfortunately, I have to change those message today to "crown the witch' only, in order from the EBU".
I mean, EBU would get backlash if they react even more negatively to that.
EBU weren't always consistent about this, because if you think about it even showing your gender performance or wearing trans flags could be seen as a political statement. If you think further, even allowing Ukraine or Israel in the competition is a strong war-sided political statement from the EBU. I don't know if EBU has actual SOPs or working instruction about this as well. It's just EBU supporting what values they want to support, I guess, no matter whether it's on broadcast or off-stage.I was just thinking - it IS a political statement, which is not allowed, (especially what she said after your quote and the gesture she made) right?
