Just listened to the songs, Overall I think they're pretty alright, although some are better than others. I would rank them as:

1- Can Linn - Heartbeat
2- Andrew Mann - Be Mine
3- Laura O'Neill - You don't remember me
4- Eoghan Quigg - The Movie Song
5- Patricia Roe - Don't Hold On

4 & 5 I dislike equally as each other. I could possibly switch 2 & 3 about at some point.

I have just realised that 'Heartbeat' sounds like a mix between Emmelie de Forest 'Hunter and Prey' and Loreen 'We got the power'

I think "Heartbeat" is very reminiscent of The Corrs's cover of "Dreams"

Anyway, I'm bit disappointed with the official video. Kasey looks great...it would be super for a change to actually have an attractive contestant represent us...but she needs to show lots and lots more passion in her performance. It won't do to perform meekly at a mic stand. She needs to be punching the air and throwing herself around that stage.

Heartbeat is far superior to Only Teardrops and has a far better vocalist at the helm, but it's clearly going to fall prey to all of the narrow-minded idiots who waged a hate campaign against "Glorious" last year for apparently being a "Euphoria" rip-off despite being melodically and structurally different.

Shame, since really that's the only song here that I think will stand out for Ireland... hoping that Can-Linn can overcome the doubters and closed-minded idiots...

Admittedly, my instant reaction to the song on first listen was that it was great but also reminded me of "Only Teardrops".
However, the more I have listened to it now I don't find it as similar at all. The verses are completely different and only the chorus bears any kind of similarity.

My beef isn't with your opinion, it was with the ridiculous hate campaign that transpired last year against Cascada, and I worry that same thing would happen if Can-Linn went to Eurovision as well.

Only Teardrops received a lot of negative comments last year. But Denmark won.

Who cares what all the haters say?

If Ireland choses Can-Linn, they have a very strong chance of winning in Copenhagen (if they can perform live).
