I'm really excited for Eoghan Quigg. It's not because I'm a fan of the X Factor; I hate the show. It's because I'm a fan of Harry Hill's TV Burp.

If you type "Eoghan Quigg" into google, "voting face" follows in the suggestions.

Even The Helix would be most suitable for Eurosong. That tiny stage shoved in the corner of the RTE studio is an insult to perform on.

Absolutely! We have how many suitable medium-sized venues across the country, The Helix, The NCC, The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, The Olympia, The Academy, UL Concert Hall, Wexford Opera House, to name but a small few. They could be filled so so easily for one evening, but instead RTÉ goes for a few square metres in a tiny studio in Montrose. They have €85k to throw away at the Catholic Rightwingers, but they seemingly don't have a cent to hire an external venue. Ridiculous!

What about holding it in the indoor bit of the RDS Arena where they hosted Eurovision twice in the 80's.

Oh gosh, another Jedward type of act??? Atleast those Jedward guys were sorta sexy in a twinky way, this one just looks... odd

Well, if the song will be another "Lipstick" I'm actually all for it... ;)

Lucie Silvas. I knew I already heard her name. She released only one song in France, but it was a big duet hit !
Promising news then ! :)

It seems she looked for partners in every country for that duet for BILINGUAL COVERS

I really loved that song. It's a pity we never knew more about her :(

If it's anything NEAR as good as this one, then I'll definitely be routing for it:

This is one of my all-time fav ballads, this is how a ballad should sound! Not that cheesy dated over-wailed souless crap we tend to end up with in ESC...

As much as I do love a 'wailing' vocal, what I love about this song is that Lucie captivates her listeners through the emotion and passion in her voice rather than through big/high notes :D

Most importantly the song isn't cheesy, the melody is nice, and the lyrics make sense in a ballad...

In ESC we get so many of these relic Disney ballads about finding one's "strength" or sharing peace on earth or what else crap... when ballads (imo) should be about a broken heart and pure emotions that people actually could relate to.

She's still warbling though and singing with what sounds like an inflected tone of voice which to me is always a massive turn off when it comes to ballads. I prefer ballads when they are sung with cutting honesty and straightness.

I forgot completely about Lucie Silvas and "What You're Made Of". It brings back memories... but all the commercial radio friendly ballads of the time sounded like that. It was nothing extraordinary.

"The Movie Song" terrifies me....

It sounds like something painfully cheesy backed by somebody who'll pick up tons of votes. That's a deadly combination.

Hopefully I'm just being paranoid and overly cynical.
