When are the five Irish songs released for this year?

Thursday. I'm guessing on Derek Mooney's show on RTÉ Radio 1, between 3 and half 4. You can listen live here I'd imagine.

Wasn't it Ireland last year that had it's national final as a part of some talk show? I thought that was strange, like they didn't care much about the whole ESC at all.

Who the heck are these names??

No Samantha Mumba xcry

And again the silly mentor-system , and of course we'll get the Late Late show where everyone will speak in consensus about how "great all songs are and that they are all good for Europe ..." and then the tiny stage with bad sound...

I cross my fingers Ireland would change their selection method, internal selection in 2015 perhaps?

What was especially funny that Lordi performed on that tiny stage...

What's with the Irish and British? Both living in the past. Other countries seem to have taken the change of Eurovision in their stride. Is there something about our culture that seems to live in the past? Hold on to the fact that we used to win it all the time...

If Eoghan wins, one have to explain us how to pronounce that name ! xrofl3

BTW, When I googled Laura O'Neill's name, I fell directly on a website proposing me to borrow her for my wedding ! That's serious Eurovision in :ie: this year ! xrofl3

Looking forward to Can-Linn's song! The rest seem kinda meh. Especially Andrew Mann, he reminds me of an older uncle who keeps trying to be cool and hip and down with the kids or something. Meanwhile really not looking forward to RTÉ's sham of an NF. I mean the only saving grace is that it's not the Saturday Night Show. I know it's the same studio but the host is an absolute thundering idiot. RTÉ could realistically fill the O2 (where we hosted 94/95/97) if they had an Unsere Star Fur XYZ style NF and had some kind of big-name for an interval act. At the very least they could half-fill it like they did for The Hit.

Even The Helix would be most suitable for Eurosong. That tiny stage shoved in the corner of the RTE studio is an insult to perform on.
