Lena was bad, completely out of tune, singing like a crow, but i loved the song, it didn't stop her from winning the contest

Mark my words , Jedward will win. Why?
Cause they both are genius in marketing, have a big record-company behind them and are Ireland's biggest media-whores.And the song is cool, but targets at a mainly younger audience.

A lot of people make the assumption that they are stupid, both have been straight A-students in school, it's just an act people.

I also read remarks about their so-called ugly looks, they have been signed by NEXT models one of the most prestigious modelling agency's in the world and already had lots of fashion-shoots in various magazines, Ford Models USA is also interested in signing them.

The guys are both millionaire at 19, quite an achievement or not?

Lena wasn't as bad as you make her sound like.

We will mark your words.....and I have a strong feeling we will proove you wrong. Do you really think that the jury is going to back the lipstick song? I highly doubt it.
Jedward will appeal to the younger crowd but flop with the mature audience and you need to win over both in order to succeed.

The fact if they are smart or not has nothing do with their entry or chances of winning so I am not quite sure why this is even being mentioned when it comes to their chances of winning the contest.

True, if the audience were all old, but there are also quite a few younger ones among them nowadays.

And sometimes you also need some brains and the ability to play chess to do the ESC, you know.
True, they are not good singers, but good entertainers which imo is also required to do the ESC.
That Nicky-girl wouldn't pass the semi-finals.
Good voice yes, but TOTALLY BORING

I'm as certain of their flop as I was certain of UK coming in last place in 2010.

And even if they manage to qualify by some random twist of fate, they are heading for the bottom 5.

If you visit other forums/sites you can see that quite a few people favor Jedward performing a song which is fresh, different, bold.
For example the turkish people LOVE them.
We have to wait and see, I'm sure about Jedward FTW
Don't underestimate their social media skills, as i said they are media-whores

This one stuck in my head from the first listening ,i'm not usually into cheap bubble-gum pop but this is one is my guilty pleasure ,sounds a bit like womanizer in my head
Until now is my fave' ,and i might vote for them if they'll make it to the finale.

I don't really care what other forums and sites say. This forum always has a bunch of delusional people coming on once a song is picked trying to convince themseleves and others that the their respective country undoubtedly has the best song ever and will win ESC. My opinion isn't easily swayed by stuff like that.

I think this song is incredibly lame and sorta catchy but Jedward have no talent whatsoever and they can't perform this song. Singing definitely counts at ESC when an entry ends up sounding like a bunch of incoherent noise because the performers can't manage to stay in tune for half a second.

And in my opinion, there is definitely nothing fresh, different, or bold about this song. Jedward's management/mentor went and found a cheap pop tune produced by the bucketful in Scandinavia.

The only way to win the contest nowadays is to get support from the jury. Even with tons of 12 pointers from the televoters, you still need a few points from the juries. I don't see the juries supporting them.

They won't win. Possibly do semi-well. But nowhere near the Top 5.

Has anybody said they will be?
Personally I think some juries will be in support of them and some wont - I can easily see the British jury giving them big points.

Some people foresee great things for Jedward at ESC which implies jury support.
I can see a great proportion of the juries in the second semi passing on the song and performance (based on what we saw in the NF).

I think there's only a couple of reasons why the public might vote for Jedward - they find the song catchy,or (tweenies/teens) fancy them.

Should a jury give a song top marks,just because it's catchy ? I don't think so.
Surely, each jury is meant to give marks on the tune, the lyrics, the vocal, the performance ............but lyrically and (especially) vocally they don't deserve any points, and even the performance/routine is debatable (it didn't impress me,but I'll accept that others like it).
So,that's what I'd expect from a jury - but (all ?) the Irish juries (inexplicably) gave more points to Jedward, than to Don Mescall,The Vard Sisters, and Bling - and assuming they took the lyrics and vocals into consideration when dishing out points, how did that happen ?

I hope other countries juries put a bit more thought into the songs that they give their points to.

^And what is your point?

So Germany won last year and Norway the year before and other countries the years before that. Do you think Lena winning equals Jedward winning? Because if that's the case then what is stopping Lena from winning again? You do know she's back this year? That logic doesn't add up.

lyrics lena -not very intelligent
voice lena -well she's a lousy singer
However the song is catchy, happy, performance energetic, chaotic

Don't you see any similarities between lipstick and satellite, or do you hate the Irish entry that much that you don't want to see and hear it.

Your reaction: "i don't really care what other forums and sites say" says enough to me.
Not very open-minded, right?

No as a matter of fact I see zero similarities between Lipstick and Satellite and that has nothing to do with my opinion of the Irish entry. It's your own perspective if you want to draw comparison but I personally see none.

I really don't care what other forums and sites say because I can form my own opinion. Just because some people like this song isn't going to make me suddenly believe that this entry can win ESC. Every song has it's fans and praise and that doesn't lead to Eurovision victory for all of them.

If you want to speak about being open-minded, open your mind to the possibility of Jedward not qualifying from the semis. Why should I be open to changing my opinion or waiting to be proven incorrect? If you like the song that's fine by me, but making ridiculous statements about their undeniable win for many irrelevant reasons is very far-fetched.
