Honestly I would never say this song is bad, because it's quite fresh and catchy. But I am like: I hear the mp3 - I like it, even sign along, I hear and see the live performance - I can't stand it and I just feel like I am listening to the worst song ever played anywhere. Even though it's "Eurovision Song Contest" bad singing can spoil the song and the result. Of course - we all remember that even the people who are not perfect can be high or even win (two example from this decade: Helena Paparizou in 2005 and Lena in 2011 - both were not perfect vocally, but their songs were great and performances were very nice). But here we are talking about people who have slight mistakes, not about people who are 95% out of tune. Such songs never score well (FYROM 2000, Israel 2000, Belarus 2005 etc.). Plus they have to change this messy performance.

I guess Ireland would score around 15-20 points in the semi final this year. The worst situation for Ireland is that UK votes in the first semifinal.

I think that due to the "No Neighbours" rule, the U.K. is never allowed to vote in the same semi-final as the one Ireland is taking part in.

Anyway, Jedward should bring back to giving each other smouldering twincesty looks for no reason. It can only help their chances.

That's incorrect. It's a 50/50 shot...all random. You may be thinking of the pot allocation but since UK is part of the Big 5 they don't go into any pot

Yep... we could vote for Ireland last year in the SemiFinal if I remember rightly.

It's true twins can't sing, but this stucked in my head after 1st listening. It's so catchy and guys are pretty good entertainers. So far this is definitely the best chosen entry for me. I give it 10 points :D

And we thought Lena can't win 2 years in a row...

If only people who can sing had won with this song. It would actually be good then.

Like all I am asking for is that they hold a tune.

Maybe they could do what Hadise did and cover their bad singing with the good singing of the backing singers. That would be their best move.

Didn't Elena do that too for Romania in 2009. Wasn't Lucia the one in the back doing the singing?

I feel like Bulgaria might give this points...

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really doubt it.

The bulgarian public is a bit conservative and I don`t see it voting for comedy acts like this. Remember, we gave only 3 points to Verka who came from the ukrainian young people who study in the bulgarian universities.

I'm not sure about girl votes. I think they're likely to get more votes from teenage gays.
Now seriously, I think they'll have strong backing singers and if they come up with really interesting performance I think they can qualify.

This year's Irish Eurovision representative Jedward have spoken about their plans to conquer the big prize of this year's European favourite music show, during the BBC's Newsbeat. The twins have revealed that they are curently working on their special show for the Eurovision stage.
Ireland selected Jedward as their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Although they were close to be disqualified for brenching the rules of Eurosong as their entry was leaked on the internet some days before the Irish final, the twins won the tele voting and received the honour of representing the Emerald Isle at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.

During BBC's Newsbeat, Jedward discussed their status of Irish representative at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. When asked if they are taking this experience as a joke, Edward Grimes replied: "No, it's 100% serious. Eurovision is watched by like a billion people or something - it's an amazing platform. We can't wait to go out there."

"Lady GaGa's meat dress will seem tame compared to our performance. It's going to be huge. Eurovision is not going to know what's hit them.", he added.

During the same broadcast it was also revealed that this year's Irish national final hit a peak of 999,400 viewers at 23:45 (local time).

I listened to this song once yesterday.

And I had the chorus stuck in my head this morning.. This song is seriously catchy, and I think it'll do well.

The song is catchy...

Believe me, if you've never heard of Jedward, you'll never forget them once you see them perform. Yes, they can't sing but their performance will be outstanding. Massive staging and set design will get them good points.

Who knows which way this could go!

The thing is that Jedward's idea of taking something seriously might differ from that of most people's. It sounds like they're gonna try to stage and outrageous, over-the-top and flamboyant stage show. Entertaining? Perhaps. But not really what most people would deem as "taking something seriously".

And we thought Lena can't win 2 years in a row...
Lena was nowhere near as bad as this. Also, her song was better.

Didn't Elena do that too for Romania in 2009. Wasn't Lucia the one in the back doing the singing?
I don't think so. I just watched her performance again on Youtube. Unless she's miming the entire time, that's all her for most of the song since most of the time, only one voice can be heard.

Scooch definitely did it in 2007, though.
