All Im saying is that a lot of people may have listened to the song once or perhaps never at all and have no intention of even trying to like it.

And you know this how? There are many negative points to this entry that could potentially turn people away from it. The majority of people outside of Ireland/UK don't know who Jedward are, they only have this song to judge by and if the general feeling is negative, then that says something, doesn't it?

If you like this song that's awesome but don't expect everyone else to feel the same way. :?

You said that people should be allowed to voice their opinions without apologising on a forum.

I don't know why so many ppl r negative about this song, like other songs this year r something better? Well..ofcourse...depends on taste...:D
I think I like this song, really. While I don't know the Jedward boys (I don't know if they have career in UK and Ireland and what they do)...I see them for the 1st time...and I find it quite interesting (enough to sit and watch the performance, for example - not going to the toilet).
Yes, they sound bad, they can't sing live, but they have backing vocals. I like that song is catchy and 'very modern' in comparison to other songs this year (so far).
I'd say it has potential and it's not boring..and for my taste it's best song so far, together with The Netherlands (ofc, I still expect better songs to be chosen).

I hear a lot of ''Oh give them a break, they're only young''.
They're 19 , not 9.
Every time I hear that excuse, I want to slap a biatch. If you can't sing well, then you don't belong in the music business, period. People who support singers like Colby Talbot are idiots. Yes, maybe she has potential, but is she does, then nurture and teach her. Don't give her awards (let her advance through the semi-finals of "Talent") when you wouldn't have given her a second listen were she a few years older.

Either you're talented now or wait a few years. If Jedward have potential, so be it. Let them train until they achieve that potential. They're not ready now.

I hope you guys realize that u dont have the UK to vote for you in the Semi, on the brightside it looks to be a weak semi tho.

This is definitiely the best song so far, though I still haven't listened to Malta, Iceland and Belgium from beginning to end. I feel like Bulgaria might give this points...

I don't think the comparisons to Dustin The Turkey are entirely valid. To me Dustin was a point where Ireland gave up. I felt it was a three minute moan about bloc voting, with the feeble excuse of "Only joking!" cobbled on. It was created in the hope of being funny, but left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would group Dustin together with Rodolfo Chikilicuatre and Leto Svet as almost intentionally awful comedy entries.

Jedward's song isn't really constructed to be funny. Jedward themselves are - just look at their hair for starters. I think it's a fun, modern song and it reminds me more of Verka's and Laka's comedy entries. I don't think they'll do nearly as well as those two, though. Qualifying from the semis should be the limit of their ambition.

Well they've only gone and won a National Final havent they...
As I said, they've at least improved. But they're not good enough to win Eurovision... or even do that well. Well, they could do well depending on the stage show and the whims of Europe (certain years, whimsical and "fun" entries do well, other years, they fail spectacularly).

They're entertaining, that's for sure. But they're not great vocalists (I don't know if they have the potential to be, they just aren't at this present time).

I'm pretty sure they don't have any potential to improve vocals otherwise there would've been some audible improvement since X-Factor over a year ago. From what I heard at the NF, they only got worse. :?

If they pass to the final with this, then I think I can apply for the contest myself as well

And not to get me wrong, even though I mostly am against joke acts, I found some "joke acts" actually good in the past. For example I liked Verka's entry, it was my #2 in 2007, I liked Laka too, even though I don't consider him as a clean joke act. I also found Dustin quite interesting too (more the idea than the song, but the song wasn't that bad either).

But this is just......rubbish. Oh also, the song "may" look like it is intended to be serious, but when I look at the whole package, I don't get that impression. And they aren't nowhere as fun as Verka was (for example). While Verka ruled the stage, these two guys are something I can't wait to get my eyes off.

Adam has every right to like the song. And you never know...it may end up being just a surprise hit as Lithuania in 2006 (We are the winners) though I'm pretty sure the juries will prevent from that happening.

And don't get me wrong there are a lot of gimmick songs I adore and they became part of the contest's history. I guess what bothers me with this song is the fact it's not suppose to be a gimmick but it comes across that way and the fact that they can't sing one little bit makes it even worse, so is the combination of several different factors.

But hey, if you like the song I can totally understand that and do not blame you for your taste (who has that right to do anyway???). Nevertheless I predict a terrible disaster in May for Ireland :(
