Come on give it a chance before saying you don't like it in English...before you have even heard it. Just stupid

Oh, English will for sure ruin the song for me as it makes no sense adding it to this very song. You already talk as if she already chose English? :( Well unfortunately you'll probably be right about that though... :(

No A-lister thats not my feeling, I have no idea which way she will choose.

I'm less certain than most on here that English will ruin the song but admit to a certain fear that some of the magic will be lost. We should know soon at least and I'm excited and hopeful

Oh ok,

Hmm you just said you're a little scared English might ruin the song for you?

Anyway, it's cute that all the native-English speakers defend their language, but really though, there's more to life than English lol

Not that I have anything against it (the language), but there's a place and time for everything, and the first ever ethnic Icelandic entry in Eurovision is not it I'm sorry.

People ain't defending it though. The Icelandic song (the way it is) is my favourite song and I will be happy if it stays like that. But to say English will definitely ruin the song before you have even heard it is crazy

Well, in a sense I think it will. I'm not saying it necessarily will make the song sound bad or anything, just that the whole purpose (imo) of the song will get lost.

I see your point in that it could take some of the magic away. Guess we will see very soon :D

I think I can appreciate why you are more concerned than us UK natives. My fear is less over the English/Icelandic question, more that I love the song as it is and any re-arrangement of it has me worried that I will in some way 'lose' my favourite song by far for this year. I'm from Scotland and I love the drum and fiddle element to the song. Its reminds me a little of traditional Scottish folk music.

What Greta has said they are doing with the orchestral strings and added drum has me hoping its even better. Like someone else said I really don't care about the video , its all about the song.

Hmm, why so? Actually, had I lived in a English speaking country, I'd be even more concerned. I mean wouldn't it be a nice change (afterall it's Eurovision) to get to hear a language you don't here every single day?

I knew it! They fucked up this song... screw them.

Really! So much for taking into consideration what fans liked and public opinion???

I hope you fail Greta, I really hope!

Yes it worked for me.

I'm interested to hear others opinions but it just doesn't flow so well and has lost some impact, in fact a lot of impact

Yeah... I'm in mourning oficially :/ Damn, Iceland? Why? Why? And Greta said they chose the one that fit the song not the one that will get them more votes.

Back to xmusic "Crno i belo". Kaliopi never fails to amaze me and she doesn't sell out :p

They didn't change the song too much, thankfully. I'm sure I can get used to the English, although of course the original was better. Still 12 points.

Didn't I say this from the get-go!? Don't screw with languages, it's not "just a language", languages have their own melodic and characteristics and it will in fact impact the song if it changes the language.

I'm not surprised but so utterly disappointed in her ignorance towards public opinion. "For the best of the song"... yeah yeah... try that with someone who is easily fooled.

Well, she was good at lying and put up a nice face I guess. I'm over this now. I knew they'd screw this up and I hope it fails.
