Re: ICELAND 2012 - Gréta Salóme & Jónsi - Mundu eftir mér

I like what she said about staging and the show... I am very happy they are not going to do some crazy show, but to focus on delivery of the song, emotions, funny she reffered to Armenia 2010 "we're not going to bring Islandic tree"
Language issue... she is trying so hard not to tell that is so cute :D
Well who knows, maybe maybe... I will just wait and see.
Greta is very nice and I remember when we asked what is Jonsi role in this, what is his opinion or decision about language. In the interview she said about the language: "I listened... I decided... "and in fact she wrote the song and the lyrics so it turned out to be her decision. I didnt noticed, didnt check before she composed and wrote the whole thing! So much respect! (but keep it Islandic, please Greta and from very nice you will rank to Goddess!:p)
I understand now her role and right to take own decisions.

Well of course it's her decision (since she's the writer/composer), but certainly he must have some say aswell as he's on this?

I'd just wish she listened to fans, and I really hope and cross my fingers she did.

But yeah, does seem like a sweet person and much respect for her doing this song on her own.

Her reaction confused me a bit, but I'm still hoping for the better one (no doubt in my mind that's :is: ), but I believe it's about 66% in English's favour. :(

Yeah, it was cryptic, but the way she talked about it and you could see in her eyes that it's English :(

OK, so It's almost certainly in English, but it doesn't appear she changed too much of the song, just added drums and orchestrations. I'm actually more nervous about this tomorrow than the UK presentation.

I actually am more convinced that it will be in Icelandic after listening to this interview:cool: she said that she decided to choose the version which is best for the song, not the one that will bring in the most votes!! English will almost always bring in more votes, since more people will understand the lyrics, which is an important part of the song, even if you here don't agree with me on that one.
BUT, I do agree with you guys that it suits this song more to be in icelandic. SO, I have a feeling it will be in Icelandic, and stop being so negative beforehand. Save that until you have seen the video..... that is, if I'm wrong:lol:

I do have a feeling the version we will hear in ESC will be in english, but a miracle could indeed have happened.

Actually, I don't think it will be in Icelandic :(

And I'm not sure that English ALWAYS brings more votes, I believe it depends on the song. I don't think "Molitva" would have won in English for instance.

However, yes, Icelandic suits this more because it's an Icelandic song!

Yeah, I'm afraid so :(

Let's cross all out fingers together for a miracle, and that the title in here will remain the same after the video has been premiered !

Maybe she has changed her mind again about English or Icelandic :)

I admit this is my favourite song this year and I'm really looking forward to hearing the final version. I'm a little scared admittedly that English may ruin the song for me but I'll reserve judgement and just hope its at least as good as it was , and hopefully just enhances its strengths.

Oh, English will for sure ruin the song for me as it makes no sense adding it to this very song. You already talk as if she already chose English? :( Well unfortunately you'll probably be right about that though... :(
