I wasn't too fond of the song that Versengold would have sent. FFTS was (at least what we could tell from the teaser) not as powerful as last year. I liked Vinta, but am not certain if it would have done well at ESC. But I guess all these songs would have made the NF more diverse.Same! And it even stuck a little for this year: I've seen people check out our NF selection that never cared for ESC before. It, ehm... let to a lot of disappointment that Versengold, Vinta, From Fall To Spring ect. aren't there, but that's not LOTLs fault
Are there odds anywhere for this NF?
Have there been odds for last year? Not yet I think.
That was me betting 10 grand on Ikke & skewing itHave there been odds for last year?
Can't remember. They are usually really wrong anyway.

Voting system at the NF:
“First, eight international juries will evaluate according to the ESC scoring system (1-12 points). There are five music professionals in eight different countries (just like at the ESC) who evaluate the performances from the dress rehearsal from the previous evening. The totals are then converted back into 1-12. The act that is in first place according to the jury vote has 12 points, the second 10, the third 8, and then 6 to 1.
The act that received the most votes in the audience voting (calls / SMS / online voting) gets 12 points, the second best gets 10, etc.
Whoever has the most points in total wins. In the event of a tie for first place, the higher score from the public will decide who goes to Malmö.
With TELEVOTING, everyone can call a maximum of 20 times or send 20 SMS messages.
Both online voting and televoting only work within Germany.
In online voting you can vote once per device during the voting period.
a vote from online voting counts just as much as a call or text message
Online voting takes place parallel to televoting (not earlier)
The time window is not yet 100% certain, but it will be around 15-20 minutes
14 cents per call and max. 20 cents per SMS."
It's actually 50:50 this time, last year it was heavily favouring the televote.Don´t know what to thinkt about that.
I don't know either. People at ESC Kompakt say to prevent powervoting. Is that so? If that was the case, Marie Reim won't have much advantage?Don´t know what to thinkt about that.
Then you are probably the only one liking these songs. Finally some good songs! I'm surprised! I liked them all! It's difficult to draw up a ranking:
Well done Germany! I will never stop thanking you. You finally made my ears stop bleeding
- Luca M. Wefes: beautiful song. It speaks of freedom and its strength lies in simplicity. Who would have thought that the singer also sang in Italian?
- Ann Im: beautiful and enveloping sound. I would see him well as an ESC competitor.
- Bibiane Z: It gave me a bit of an idea of Adele. Great song, great ESC competitor.
- Floryan: the one I liked the least but qualitatively it's not bad at all. She reminded me of Gjon's Tears. He too could be a viable contender for ESC.
Yes it's actually creating an even playing field for know acts vs unknown acts.I don't know either. People at ESC Kompakt say to prevent powervoting. Is that so? If that was the case, Marie Reim won't have much advantage?
Ah okay. Now I get it! Thank you!Yes it's actually creating an even playing field for know acts vs unknown acts.
If Marie gets 20.000 Votes as the first place she will get 12 points. Let's say Ryk only gets 4.000 votes but is still 3rd place in the voting, he would still get 8 points and wouldn't be far behind and still has a shot to win.
I have to say they are nice songs. Obviously they won't win the ESC and reach the top 10 but they're not in the bottom 5. I didn't know Luca was Italian I was surprised to listen a German contestant singing in Italian. Then you are probably the only one liking these songs.
By the way, Luca I think lived in Sicily (he is half Italian?). Don't know exactly, but he has connections there.
I made a small list how the results of last year would look like with a similar system as this year (12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, 0 point system tho)In theory, I don't like the voting change. Public > Jury IMO, because it's about what Germans want to have representing them. I prefer the System from last year (tho LOTL would have won either way). But this year it fits the general "let's send Jury bait" strategy so.... yeah. And this also reduces Max' chances, so that is a plus (I'm sorry, but that song is just so unvelieveably bland).
That's really interesting. Especially Ikke looses with this system. So maybe Marie can have the same "fate" as well in case the Juries will rate her low. I truly hope that Ryk will make it. He (and maybe Bodine a bit) could be the only ones dragging us out of the bottom.I made a small list how the results of last year would look like with a similar system as this year (12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, 0 point system tho)
When there's a tie usually the televote score is the deciding factor so this is what it would look like. The smaller artists would've been much more competitive against the established artists (Ikke and LotL together got more than 50% of the whole televote), with the televote favourite still having quite the advantage even if the jury tanks them.
I think Ryk has really a good chance at winning.
