First post of the season ... and as usual our selection is mostly bland.
Imma go with Ryk on this one but yea knowing the typical ARD-viewer that Schlager-cringe is gonna win it all.

Bodine Monet - Tears Like Rain would be my choice, but my winners in other countries are all better though.

As you can imagine, i'm a bit disappointed because :de: has 5th best average placing for me in 2020s and it's currently only behind Moldova, Georgia, San Marino and Norway. (Russia doesn't count because 50% of attendance is mandatory)

You better send Ikke until 2029 to catch up

if we are lucky, Ryk would get a Sheldon Riley scenario or :az: 2022.
I'd prefer getting 10 pts from Austria, 5 from Switzerland and 1 point from Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands each for a Schlager entry than a televoting :0: for a whiney ballad no one is going to listen to outside Eurovision.

But who knows if she's able to sing it live.
Ryk and Max are able to pull it off, though.

But yeah, the NF is not really an exciting one even hough I have to admit that the chorus of NAIV is already living rent-free in my head.

I have listened x

7 Bodine - Tears Like Rain
7 Marie Reim - Naiv

6 Ryk - Oh Boy

5 Leona - Undream You
5 Isaak - Always on the run

4 Max Mutzke - Forever Strong
4 NintyNine - Love On a Budget

2 Galant - Katze

Well, other than Katze which I don't like at all there isn't anything that really repels me. However, that isn't exactly a good thing though because this line up is incredibly mid and inoffensive. Bodine I guess edges it as my favourite but i'm not super into it. Naiv I was excited for based on a recap but it misses something important imo. Ryk doesn't particularly impress me but it's clear your best shot at getting out of the gutter of the scoreboard. There is jury potential at least there. This NF is sadly doesn't surprise me at all.

01 Marie Reim – Naiv 10/10
02 Ryk – Oh Boy 9/10
03 Bodine Monet – Tears Like Rain 8/10
04 Max Mutzke – Forever Strong 8/10
05 GALANT – Katze 7/10
06 Leona – Undream You 6/10
07 ISAAK – Always On The Run 4/10
08 NinetyNine – Love On A Budget 2/10

I don't want to comment our NF detailed, because i didn't see this selection as bad as people see it in this forum. I'm sure i'm the only one here, who thinks that. There a songs who i think the juries will vote for it, the public is never predictable. This NF gives me Michael Schulte vibes, we will see in May what happens....In any case i'm not so negative, but it is ever year the same, maybe because of that we deserved to be in the Bottom.

There's one universe out there where Angelika Milster gets announced as the Wild Card entrant and then goes on to represent Germany and win Eurovision this year with her hit evergreen song, Zeit, despite it having been released ten years ago.

I hope I'm in the right universe.

Not very enthusiastic about our NF... my personal favorite is Marie Reim, Ryk could do "best" at Eurovision, but compared to our good NFs in 2014-16 (although the wrong songs won) this is rather weak

Can't even be bothered to rate them all, I either cringe or sleep from boredom... Love On A Budget is the only one I kinda like, but then again it reminds me too much of Denmark last year and we all know how that turned out. I love Max as well, but not his song.

Might as well go back into hibernation.
