Still at ESC most of the people who will vote will listen to the whole song, so it's not done with a snippet. But now I understand your weird ranking. xcookie
At first listen this was my impression. I'll definitely listen to all the songs and maybe change my mind. Songs take time to assimilate 😁

But this selection is still awful, this line-up lacks diversity and I don't believe that these were the best out of all 800 songs, no way.
Don't know why we are that high in the odds, is it because of Ryk? People seem to like his song. I really don't get it tho.
And Max Mutze... dude... his talent wasted on that godawful boring nothingburger of a song 🙄

I like Isaak's song, it suits my taste. But looking at the reception he doesn't create buzz really so he doesn't seem to be a good choice. So It's just going on my spotify list and I will quietly root for him. But I don't want to support him going to the contest, becoming last and having to go through all of that. So I won't vote for anyone and most likely not even watch the national selection.

Good job NDR, you really just can't do it.

Edit:
And why is Katze in this selection?! It's horrible.

Yeah, another bottom 5 for y'all in Germany I fear. Not a bad selection of songs, but very uncompetitive. I loved Ryk and Leona, and of course Marie Reim for soothing my schlager soul. xheat Katze is such a flop attempt at a joke entry, if it's even one.

Ryk - "Oh Boy" (9/10)
Leona - "Undream You" (8.5/10)
Marie Reim - "Naiv" (8/10)
NinetyNine - "Love on a Budget" (7/10)
Isaak - "Always on the Run" (6/10)
Bodine Monet - "Tears like Rain" (5/10)
Max Mutzke - "Forever Strong" (4/10)
Galant - "Katze" (3/10)

So a bad selection 😭

listen I've said this before. I'd rather have 40 uncompetitive songs than 40 competitive songs that all sound like they were made for eurovision (Keiino, My AI, that Croatia overhyped song, Windows95Man, Matt Black's Banana... all awful awful songs).

At least if won't mute the channel when the German song is on. :)

I cant with Germany, I mean, there are many countries that arent good at ESC but at least they get 1 o 2 good entries then and there by chance. Its like Germany is looking purposely for the last placer every year. Most unexciting esc country hands down

Mari Reim - Naiv (8/10)
GALANT - Katze (7/10)
Bodine Monet - Tears Like Rain (7/10)
Love on a Budget - NinetyNine (6/10)
Leona - Undream You (6/10)
Ryk - Oh Boy (5/10)
Max Mutzke - Forever Strong (5/10) His voice feels wasted on such a vanilla track
Isaak - Always On The Run (3/10)

I'll be nice.. LOOK, some green up there! Oh my.

I think Naiv is the most German song I've heard in a hot minute and yet it would somehow feel refreshing at Eurovision coming from Germany. Just give people the tasty schlager and see what happens.

Kazte I'm undecided on but it's more catchy than it has any right to be, especially as I'm not usually a fan of these very minimal electronic tracks.

Tears Like Rain sounds like a Wiktoria Melo song and so I'm secretly a smidge charmed by it, even if Bodine's vocal style is not my thing and quite far from it.

However, there's one song here that's pretty much certain to do well but I don't particularly like it. Ryk's Oh Boy would surely grab hold of the juries and not let go. It's the kind of grandiose that leaves me cold but the potential here to do well is undeniable.

So really it's two options, Ryk to get you out of your rut with the help of the jury (I'm unsure how the public will react) or you take a gamble with Mari Reim. She's gorgeous and seems very charismatic. I feel like the public could enjoy her song.

Katze & Naiv are the only songs worthy of being there tbh

Pound shop rag and bone man can do one as well. I am once again flabbergasted that these were the best 8 songs out of 800 potential submissions

We'll also have to wait and see how the live performances are going to be like. Remember how hyped the bubble was about Patty Gurdy for her to bring that abysmal live performance, or Aly Ryan. We know that Ryk and Max Mutzke can bring it for the stage but I'm having a lot of questionmarks about artists like Marie Reim (has there ever been a not lipsync performance in the Schlager world lol) and the newcomers...
