Oh my god, I went through all the emotions in this show. I'm all over the place. And so happy. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💕

Sucked by the jury and promptly got the middle finger from the audience. Finally. 👹

Whats the lesson? You gave us a banger in the selection. We pick the banger.
You gave us 6x salad, we can only pick the best salad, but its worse. We can't make a burger from salad salad salad.

I'm happy for all the Ikke fearing Germans that you avoided a disaster. I was confused by all the worry at first but after the performances tonight, his staging stood out, not to mention those rabid fans in the hall were alarming. But it all turned out ok in the end. Special mention to @Mainshow who introduced me to Lord of the Lost a couple of years ago at WorldVision. I'm especially delighted for you.

Having said all that though. I'm not super excited right now. This rocks too softly for me. I can certainly enjoy cheesy poppy metal tracks like this one, and I don't mind it at all, but I'm just a bit nonchalant with it which is not how I want to be feeling with a metal track . I think in time it might grow on me if I give it a chance, and the band are a perfect fit for Eurovision, so to speak. Their kind of camp has the potential to go down well enough I imagine, at least with the public.

For now I'll go :6: points.

Yes, my most favorite song won and I could cry.

Nevertheless I want to say that this was a shitty show. The camera work was terrible, the stage much too small ant the sound awful. Germany could learn from other countries how to make a decent NF.
I am thanking the Juries to putting Ikke last ---- well except UK, but I forgive you. :ROFLMAO:
And I am thankful for the German audience for sticking with LOTL. The staging wasn't perfect in my eyes, something lacked, but I hope they can fix that until May. But Germany my most fave entry since ... well, can't remember, too long ago!
Oh i feel you, i had 10 different emotions mixed during the show.

See Australia, this is how you do synth-heavy metal. Simple. Melody. 🤣

It's not a 12 for me. I love metal clean cut like Black Sabbath or Metallica, or if cross-overed, I like it with real electro / techno / trance - Rammstein or Laibach style.

I'm not into synth and metal.

But I'd vote for this.

I have 5 competitors I always vote for [except in Maneskin's year] and this year they are:

1. Finland
2. Spain
3. Czechia because I made a promise to a forum member that I shouldn't have haha
4. Latvia
5. Slovenia
6. And welcome Germany. Finally. First time ever hahah

Ok. Now that I cooled down a bit my brief two cents:

I can’t believe that the country of engineers put on such a technical shitshow. That’s embarrassing x10 and that gives me hope LOTL will sound much (!) better in May.

Although I‘m a bit over the moon I‘m also a bit sad that someone won half the people there wouldn‘t want winning. This goes for every participant tonight. If Will had won the same, if anyone else had won the same: jury and audience were so much apart that it leaves a bitter after taste. (Blood and glitter… sweet and bitter…)

I have a big feeling that this will flop, it feels too safe and vanilla for a metal offering. AWS had a much better song and ended up low in the final.
I can understand what you mean. I don't think it'll flop, but we could be in for a more middle of the road result.

Blind Channel and Måneskin were better quality, more serious rock bands. And Blind Channel had that nordic goth vibe.

It depends. If Europe wants a crazy show, they can do well! I'm all happy.

Against my better judgment I decided to watch after all and my god, what a terrible show once again. Tiny stage, bad sound mixing as per usual, amateurish camera work. But the worst bit was the endless chats with Schöneberger and Silbereisen. If this was on at 8.15pm, I'm convinced we would have once again ended up with just the usual >60 ARD viewers voting after yet another Silbereisen anecdote about Schlager and good old times... horrible and a complete waste of time. I applaud everyone who didn't turn off.

Sadly, the performances were mostly underwhelming too. My pre-show favourites Anica and René had mediocre to bad live performances, just little to no stage presence too. Even worse was Patty though. I was low-key expecting it to happen since Melodies of Hope is a bit of a tricky song to stage and pull off. I didn't even hate Ikke all that much when he was finally on. He and LOTL seemed like the only ones to know how to perform and what they were doing.

Will Church sweeping the juries was a big yawn moment, though I probably agree he had the strongest live vocals. But his song is just SO bland and they really should've mixed it up more. What the hell was Marijke Amado doing there :ROFLMAO: But I'm also sure this was a decent preview of LOTL's jury performance in May. And with strong televote competition, I'll remain sceptical whether they can even it out with the public in the same way.

The song itself isn't quite for me I think but I do think they were by far the best choice. It could hit a little harder probably, it's a bit middlish in every department, at the sime time too much and too little growling, too much and too little melody, I don't know, something just doesn't want to flow for me. But definitely a new direction for Germany so that alone is fine with me. And I'd be VERY surprised if they didn't get quite a bit more points than what we've recently seen.

This is the only thing I could think of reading this.

Honestly, Germany is not alone. There's been shit shows soundwise all over Europe. Of the ones I've watched only the Nordics, Spain and Italy were high quality. We all know the Germans can do better. Must be a budget/priority thing, no?

Finally, saved after our collective hysteria :') Happy that LOTL won. Patty is last, in fact her performance was the least good, but at lest she's 3rd in televote !

I am happy it’s not Ikke, and LotL had one of the best performances tonight. That doesn’t say much however. We all watched the show, nearly all of them fell apart. Was it the performers fault? I hope not, and I also think it wasn’t. The Sound mixing and everything was severely lacking for at least the second year in a row and if that wasn’t a sign to FINALLY Change the Production Company, I don’t know what is. Also, we Need to get back to the arenas to have this show. And wtf was that public vote? The Jury vote was actually understandable to a degree (for a NF) even though I wouldn’t say it was 100% fair, but like c‘mon, you could see that it was basically just a Fan vote (of mostly the Top 2 acts), probably because of the Time of the broadcast, and while it had a happy ending, I want to go back to a time where also casual viewers Watch and vote. The result might not always be pleasing but I want people to be interested and to take Part in the selection.

Lord of the Lost can probably get 100% better on the Eurovision stage and will put on a show and I hope we‘ll get a decent result, but they won’t be better than a low top 10, also not worse than a low Top 20 I think. Thats very acceptable for Germany but I hope for even better winners of our NFs in the future. We had a lot of Potential this year, and I hope we keep up the promising work
