Almost as cringeworthy as :me: - :4: points and second-to-last place in my ranking...

A bit unfortunate, that Johannes Strate (the last member of the expert jury) was the coach of Carlotta Truman (S!sters) at "The Voice Kids" in the past.
10 or 12 points...not decisive in the end...but still weird

.. and after the Romanian NF eurovision.de wrote about unfortunate relationships between jury members and candidates in other countries.

And ORF wrote:
The message of the winning song is strongly based on last year's winner's title "Toy" by Netta. "Sisters" also focuses on the strength and self-empowerment of women. Whether the same message reaches the desired success twice in succession remains to be seen.

So, I just slept over the mess that was our NF last night and what can I say? I dont feel as supportive of our entry as last year. The song needs a serious revamp in order to make me root for it really. I would place is overall very very low on my ranking. Its interesting how Germany will fall from fifth place in the odds to 35 or something. Good job, Germany and international juries.

Now I have this one problem with the juries this year. They all vote for those singers that have big voices, but isn't that supposed to be a Song Contest? I am confused. This year we have all those scream queens. Its awful

Okay, it wasn't my favorite but it's not so bad. After a few more listen it's even growing on me, I'll give it a 6.
Right now I'm just glad Aly didn't win

See guys, my favourite was Lily, when it comes to my own taste of music. She would have certainly had her moments in Tel Aviv. It‘s the kind of song you vote for its strangeness and because it feels magical for a moment. This is something for #8-10 in the final but it hasn’t ESC winner vibes. I don’t get the hype about Makeda - great voice alone is never a guaranteed victory. The song is dead boring. Aly could have nailed it but she was incredibly weak live and I think she would not have gotten better til May. She was my second favourite but S!isters were third and to me, it’s the only reasonable choice! This can do very well in May and is nowhere near Germany 2016 or 2017, this is much better in staging and intensity. Until now I don’t have THAT winner song but Sisters made it easily into my top 5. And it‘s not even my kind of music. It‘s the first time in years I‘m really happy with our choice. I don’t LOVE the song to pieces but I can honestly say I like it and their performance is great!

Not bad, could be worse. Also I hate when the song has the same name as the group, it looks so amateurish.

I see valid points here, definitely, the strength of the song is definitely there, but am I the only one who was not liking their staging? I found it quite annoying that they were rotating, seeing their backs all the time, them walking around here and there. I would love to see more close-ups, some blurry shots of the other girl here and there in the background, I would have such great ideas for stagings ... and a tiny revamp. It would lift the song A LOT!

I can understand when people are disappointed that neither Aly nor Lilly won. They were on my top of the list before the show as well. Lilly's performance was the only though that was in front of Sisters for me. It had wonderful vibes. But as for Aly - her performance didn't get me at all. Too much based on colors, no Passion, intensity or whatsoever, plus her vocals were weak. I was disappointed. But Sisters were really good in my eyes. Maybe the song itself could be better, but damn - the performance was great. Great vocals, Wonderful chemistry of the two and I liked thestage rotating. All in all, a great package, it convinced me. So yes, I am still sad Lilly didn't made it, but yet I am happy that Sisters did - and thank god we don't have a second Justin Bieber.

I wonder, most people shot their music videos before the show, did S!sters too? Or is there room for a revamp?

If the channel pushed them to victory, how could an internal selection (by the same people) be better?

Did I say that they were pushed by the channel??? No

i think after all the disppointment we can say that the choice was not that bad. i mean aly had a real bad Performance, there was absolutely no expression of passion in her face nor her body language. also Lilly seemed insecure and undecided which moves she wants to make. I dont understand why so many people said Makeda would have a great voice. All the others obviously did not have enough time to rehearse, they all seemed to not feel home on the stage. Sisters were the only ones who brought passion and emotions to the stage. I dont like their song, but i understand that jury and televoters voted for them. i guess they will not have the same staging in Israel. nevertheless i dont think they have chances to reach the top 10. i think now it really is time to change the ESC-team at NDR. They should find someone who is connected to the german music scene. in Austria that works well.

I watched the show yesterday evening and I'm happy with the winning song. Lily was my favourite but they were my 2nd.

I was afraid by the name of the duo and the title of the song because, hmm, it sounds really dumb. But the singers were so fresh and happy to be there, the song is nice and I don't see why people think that it's ridiculous to sing about sisterhood? I mean, of course the subject of a parent's death is way more serious but I'm glad that all songs are ot about death or love. (Maybe because I have a bunch of sisters and brothers? )

Ok you guys. I just talked to my mum who watched the NF as well and we both came to the conclusion that the result must have been rigged or atleast NDR did something to prevent other artists from winning, no clue. I mean, ok, I dont have REAL evidences, but some things really were done in favour for S!sters, two loveable girls, no matter what.

My theories:
- It has always been said that we will have 6 acts, out of a sudden a 7th makes it in. Its S!sters, a wildcard from NDR. Wildcards and winning, we know the drill.
- Huge promotion on TV and radio for S!sters. I said it before, they were with Linus the only acts introduced on TV on the channel ARD making them look like favourites
- My mum told me yesterday, she heard of a radio interview (NDR 2 which is a part of the ARD) saying S!sters were actually the faves to win by an NDR dude (yeah, of course)
- Having the coach of Carlotta (1/2 of S!sters) as the German judge on the show, seems unfair. Makeda couldve taken the 12 then, which wouldn't have changed a thing, but yeah
- S!ster is the only act with someone from Hannover, Lower Saxony, the location of the NDR (Just like Lena) which meant huge promotion from NDR for them
- NOBODY (:!:) expected them to win - last in the odds, mostly last in the Top Videos, in all rankings, it all screamed last place
- YET the NDR decided to place them 7th, the winning position of Michael Schulte last year. Coincidence? Dont think so. :?
- So .. the viewing figures are out: 2.99 million people watched, 2.84 million with the age between 14 and 49. No an age range that would necessarily vote for S!sters right? I dont think so.
- The massive shitstorm on the net, the love words for Aly and Lilly and the others show me what has happened to Ann-Sophie and Levina, people arent supportive of the act which leads me to the question then how on earth they couldve gained the most points from public then?
- having amateur singers is better for NDR to work with other than a BB Thomaz, Lilly or Aly Ryan who have visions and would consider themselves being part of the team that work on their staging - S!sters seems new, naive, NDR can do with them whatever they want, just like Levina, Jamie-Lee and Ann-Sophie. I mean .. they didnt even know their staging and performance 3 days ago?

I don't want to allege the NDR they rigged it, I dont, but we all know how TV works these days. Me as a journalist and media student feel like something has been planned and some people called it before the NF yesterday. Its a pity. I wish those lovely girls good luck nonetheless, but I hope they wont be shut down by the NDR. They have to think for themselves and emerge as independant women.
