Well, in case of :at: 2014, Conchita had few songs to start with. They chose the best one based on what they have seen to be popular so far. A ballad was chosen, because it seemed to them that up-tempo song will not stand out in the semi-final. I suppose that's what it is good to wait and that is why some successful countries (:az: and :ru:) wait so long to release their songs. Besides, someone could 'borrow' the idea.

Obviously it is not always the case. We don't know whether the song has been already made. We know the title and that Kaliopi is working on it. The title doesn't tell us much though. It may be a ballad or an up-tempo song. It may be a success or a complete disaster - but we won't know that for sure until 7th March.

Yeah, nothing of this is new. The things you say isn't making my hope higher unfortunately...It's just a way of wrap it up in cotton... A better way would have been to give us a song; like Italy. And then tell us that this song MAY be change to another one...

But then do you think every country should release song at the same time, as early as possible? Why is it only :mk:?
Russia will release their entry on 3rd March, Azerbaijan on 14th, Serbia has not even announced plans regarding their selection. And all of these countries are very successful. Do you think that their entry will be of poor quality as well just because they do not throw their song straight away, like Ireland did this year? It is usually the songs are selected later that do well. I mean if really the most disappointing songs were released at the end, then I doubt Austria would be that successful in 2014. I can't understand why you are so pessimistic. Beyond of that, have faith in Kaliopi, she is experienced performer. She hopefully knows what she is doing :)

Regarding Italy, back in 2014 they decided to pick the song internally, announced it early (I think it was January) and it was their worst result since returning. This year circumstances are a bit different (they intended to go the San Remo route originally).

PLEASE stay logical. Now you're all over the place... ;)
- First of all. Russia haven't even annonced a song, there IS NO titel, there is only an artist/singer. So YES that is a big difference. You can't argue that it's the same thing. But when a title has been presented THERE IS a bigger hunger for the song. And there isn't a song presented in the Russian camp.

- Kaliopi is a favourite; for me AND a lot of others. OFCOURSE the expectation is going to grow stronger than for someone you never heard about. Especially when you know the songs name.

- I have never said anything about "every country should release song at the same time"... What ever gave you that idea? I said that the long wait will build higher expectations of Kaliopis song (since there IS a song ready for her but not yet released), and with high expectations the risk of flopping is bigger than with low expectations...

It is good to wait sometimes ;) Because of that, they now know what kind of songs have been chosen already and what kind of songs are in the preselections. Strategically speaking, this is important because they could choose a song that is more likely to stand out. Meanwhile, countries like :ie: cannot really do anything now (unless they change the song completely) and are likely to end up worse than :mk:

It works both way.
A middle-of-the-road song revealed early may be surpassed by same level songs that are revealed later and are perceived as novelty.
On the other hand, a great song revealed early may quickly become a fan favourite and leave no room for late contenders.

Just because they have a title, doesn't mean the song is finished. Similarly, Russian song may not have a title as of yet but it doesn't mean it hasn't be produced yet. We don't know that so I don't see the point in catastrophising.

Sergey Lazarov is hardly an unknown singer; he is definitely more famous than Kaliopi especially in Post-Soviet countries.

I got an impression that you don't see point in waiting. But we are waiting for many entries which have yet to be revealed. It is not only Kaliopi. Yes, the wait builds up the tension. The risk of flopping as a Fan favourite is perhaps big. However, the risk of flopping in the actual contest is not bigger: ultimately, most people will hear Kaliopi's song for the first time on 12th May.

It works both way.

That's true. However, so far we do not have any major fan favourites (maybe Spain but some people hate it) so there is no threat to Kaliopi. Obviously, there will be more acts revealed by 7th March so it may change. Hopefully, Kaliopi knows what she is doing. :)

When I first saw the title, I instantly thought that the lyrics are going to be something in a style: "
I'm a diva! A magnificent diva!"

I read somewhere that someone that works in our local broadcaster said that the demo of the song sounds very dated and not up to par with her vocal abilities, just wanted to share this info.

I have my hopes up for Kaliopi, so let's see.

Sometimes, when entries aren't released yet, the song titles may give you a certain feeling, whether it's negative (Golden Boy, Fairytale Love) or positive (Love Injected, Hope Never Dies).

For "Dona", I have got a positive feeling, and I expect something both classy and fierce. :p Time will tell if that's what she went for.

Tomorrow we will see,
the setting will be a high class restaurant and In a way she will try to make it seem like she is singing to her closest friends and fans.
It will be like a soire with Kaliopi and she is welcoming us in her house

Just hope the song is good enough.... I am keeping my fingers crossed :)

Even though I adore Crno i Belo - and think it will be hard to top in my heart - I'm pretty confident about her new song :) I expect something very personal only her can rock.

I want something out there, something unique and special ...... She needs to bring her A-game this time, since if there is ever a chance for a top 10 placing is this year.
Everyone seems to go left instead of right, and it is an opened field unlike 2012 ..... When we had a clear vision of how things stand.
I am hoping for something haunting, ethnic and very mysterious ..... Also I want a cameo of her high pitch in some way or form.
