This is the moment i've been waiting for all year. I just cannot wait for the song reveal. Even when this Eurovision year was looking dire for my tastes, I was saying to myself "But Kaliopi is coming, come on!". I think she's the greatest artist ever to have performed on the Eurovision stage. Both "Crno i belo" and "Samo ti" would win a place in my top 10 Eurovision songs of all time list. She's a legend. The most down to earth diva. I'm sure "Dona" will be incredible. Kaliopi could sing the phone book and it would be epic even. Go Macedoniaxheat

WOW

If I ever see her again, I will tell her she has a strong support from all over Europe.
I've been to her house once for coffee, since my friend is her niece ...... Gave me a cd and all, that is why I want her to do well .... She is awesome !!!!!!!!

I want something out there, something unique and special ...... She needs to bring her A-game this time, since if there is ever a chance for a top 10 placing is this year.
Everyone seems to go left instead of right, and it is an opened field unlike 2012 ..... When we had a clear vision of how things stand.
I am hoping for something haunting, ethnic and very mysterious ..... Also I want a cameo of her high pitch in some way or form.

This, this, this, this, this, this, and this!

Oh my gosh, that's amazing! She's such a lovely lady. Back in 2012 I uploaded a short cover of her entry to youtube and Kaliopi actually sent me a beautiful, rather long private message, telling me how touched she was by it and what the song meant to her. It was quite a surreal message to receive and really moved me. She's just such a special artist. I love particularly two impromptu performances she did for esctoday of her ESC entries. It was these videos that helped me to fall in love with her and made me realize just how beautiful and raw an artist she is. Watching them almost brings tears to me eyes.

RainyWoods I watched these videos back in 2012 and it's incredible how they still give me chills. Somehow it makes me regret that Eurovision isn't about live music anymore. Kaliopi is unique xheart Not that that I would love all Eurovision entries to be acoustic, but Crno i Belo with only a piano and her voice would have been awesome too at the Crystal Hall.

I turned the videos into mp3 files and took them with me everywhere:lol: I think I ended up listening to that version of "Crno i belo" more than the studio recording even.

It makes me wish as well for live music. I don't understand how hard it would be for someone who just wants to come out and play the piano or their guitar, why they shouldn't be allowed to do it. Live music would also attract artists that would otherwise stay away from the contest. If someone wants to play live then they should have the choice to. It's very difficult for me to take seriously those who come on stage with ultra serious songs, pretending to play their instruments.

lavieenrose You should spare Tinkara as she repeated several times she wanted the orchestra back. :D And she asked if she could play the flute during her performance, but her request was rejected :?

I fear that I may have been misconstrued. Tinkara and her flute are ICONIC, truly underrated and amazing in every way. I'm only worried about the world that RainyWoods presents because it means no more piss-taking from glorious beings like Tinkara.

I don't understand why they can't make it optional for countries who may want it. Not many probably but still at least let it be an option xshrug

If they can bend over backwards and give Sweden extra time for their gimmick stage shows then other countries should be given a little extra for a live orchestra. It would certainly make things more interesting naturally then the contrived shit the EBU have been doing all in name of making the show more "exciting"

Honestly, I don't know either xthink I guess they don't want to bother getting into additional logistic considerations, since it wouldn't be worth having an orchestra if only a few countries would be willing to use it. On the contrary, if the orchestra was reintroduced for everyone, they would probably say it may hurt "modern" music (aka Swedish pop :D), so some would be favored, and some not xshrug

As for Tinkara, it's even more silly. I mean she could play the flute in front of her microphone like she did during the national final. But I guess rules are rules, or maybe they feared it would represent a major advantage for her.

i'm waiting for Kaliopi, like really. I really liked Crno I Belo. I loved 2014, hated 2015 so 2016 is surely the one i will like.

So tomorrow is the presentation! xcheer Do not compare "Dona" to "Crno i belo". I believe "Dona" is a ballad and we actually need a ballad in this year of plain and mediocre midtempo songs. This week was pretty bad with all the choices and songs (worst ESC yet in the past 10 years I would say), so with not much competition as in 2012, hopefully the song will grant Macedonia the best ever result and revenge for her not being in the top10 4 years ago.
Looking forward to hear it!

If Kaliopi is a let-down, we'll need hospitals on stand-by for mass bridge-jumpings. She is one of my last hopes. I agree we need a ballad, but it needs to be a ballad with a punch.
