I showed some of the comments to my French friend who has no interest in Eurovision, and then he was like "what has france just done?" and he was curious about the song, and he asked me to show him the song, except it is removed everywhere on the internet.

It hasn't been removed! Here it is!

The French delegation must be high or something, I don't want to believe that there weren't any better songs than this one. I'm furious and f*cking fuming about our HoD having acted like this would be the opportunity for us to do really well and to outshine everybody else in this competition.

I SERIOUSLY HOPE THAT TOM WILL PLACE LAST AND I'M SORRY FOR AMIR/ALMA/Madame Monsieur/BILAL TO WITNESS SUCH A GLOW DOWN.

I feel bad for Tom. During the press conference after the reveal, someone told him the negative reactions on the social networks. It was really embarassing. He seems to be happy about the experience but his reaction says everything I think he already regret to take part to Eurovision after this

I ain't feeling sorry for someone, who was being brought/selected by our French team to represent France because of his father/relatives, who is/are very famous in France.

Moreover, our HoD should take some notes about these negative reactions instead of saying "lol, do not listen to them we're doing great atm".

Stupid people

Ah, the kind of Eurovision song I can't be bothered with. The main thing putting him ahead of Michael Rice is that he's a more experienced performer, but this kind of ballad has never grabbed me outside of Eurovision, there's no reason why it should within it.

Of course, lots of people must love this kind of thing because it keeps coming back. But if this does better than the Spanish entry, I will be annoyed.

I can't believe that hot French HoD or whatever his title is let us down like this. I know he probably made a lot of connections at ESC and probably slept with everyone there lol but I'm not sure if we really needed an Amir/Lundvik/G:son/Bostrom tasteless sandwich. :cautious::rolleyes:

I'm sad you guys can't read French. The new HoD gave another interview today. And she's so out of touch that it becomes ridiculous. She keeps saying it could win :ROFLMAO:
This was done before the reveal today, it's obvious.

She explained everything in the interview and the conference tonight. They suggest him to participate to Destination Eurovision in both 2018 and 2019 but he said no because he didn't feel experienced enough. If you want to believe in the "his dad was famous 30 years ago theory, that's your problem.

A Bridge Too Far
This is slowly turning out to be one of the best stories this Eurovision. Swedish plant in France to ensure their entries reach the final and the money keeps flowing across the Sont. France, probably the proudest European nation, suddenly becoming total bottom feeders that are going to mocked by their little brother across the Pyrenees. Their rival across the Channel, reeling from Brexit, suddenly becoming reputable again by default because of this whole ordeal. I love it.

That's no my problem sis', chill out a bit. Michel Leeb is like one of the most famous actors out there in France and I still want someone to prove me that he did get selected because of his talent instead of the celebrity of his father.

"The song being partly in English is certainly going to get some comments from the public. Is that a necessary phase for a French song?"
"Well, let me answer this with another question: [...] what could be a better way to make people talk about our country than winning and getting the trophy to France?"

Well, she might have had a point with some better song.
Mais allô, quoi, French is just like Italian - in theory, it should be your easiest and a very effortless selling point - why do you make things hard for yourself?

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
I'm not afraid to like it openly! Last year i was brave enough to like Sisters openly!

I liked S!sters, but I can't say the same for this.

I'm still singing proudly around: VARADA, VARADA, VARADA RADA HEEE....!!

Giving it a 0 is too much; he sounds in tune, so it's a 1. John Lundvik and Thomas G:son further watered down Too Late For Love and flung this at the willing French broadcaster. It won't flop completely, but I see it faring the same as Bigger Than Us.

As one of the 10 people that genuinely enjoyed Destination Eurovision, warts and all, today is a bittersweet vindication of what we lost.

Was* on of the most famous actors. Even with some proofs you would stay fixed on your position so what for ? Tom said he's been asked to make it, he really loved the song and said to himself "I'd have loved to have written that song", what do you want more ? Nothing because you won't believe it anyway.

Some people disliked Bilal's victory, or Seemone, or both Bilal and Seemone, but overall I think that the competition was among the more appreciated ones the last year :)

I ma sorry but it had to happen at some point my first :0: of the year, nothing about this song is memorable or good just a basic ballad that I can't even remember after a few listens, realy sorry for the French fans you deserved better, hope this flops in May so France will reconsider and bring their NF back.

I was surprised at how many people were ecstatic to see it get axed. It wasn't perfect (what selection show is, TBH), but they weren't things that couldn't be fixed or tweaked around.

The smart thing would be to bring back DE with said changes next year; then again, I can totally see the HoD and broadcaster digging their heels in and not grasping the obvious.
