A Bridge Too Far
I don’t know if Germany is similar to the Netherlands in that aspect, but no matter what we send, everybody is extremely negative all the time. And Germany at least tried to deliver some sort of message. It was something. To me it wasn’t all bad.. This, however, is so bad it MUST be a joke. I just cannot believe it. I can’t.
Don't think people in the Netherlands are 'extremely negative'. They are very skeptical, but last year Arcade was pretty well received as was Birds a couple years back.

So... I've got one and just one compliment attempt. His voice doesn't sound as insufferable as I imagined.

When I talked about "I'll only like it if he goes the full Aisel route and sings something totally out of what he is used to" I wasn't expecting it would be taking seriously. It sounds way more like a You Decide reject than a Melfest one. Absolutely NOTHING in this matches. I don't remember the last time I saw a song that manages to be unmemorable AND so bad at the same time. The french/english language switch sounds forced. the lyrics are bad. the way he sings it sounds like he actually hates the song and he is being forced to sing that.

i'd rather see him with the acoustic ballad with raspy voice. i'd give it a zero either way, but it would have been less tragic.

obvious zero, last place, and Twin Twin is out there celebrating to the fact that they won't be France's worst result anymore. and poor him, please fire the new HoD.

It's the longest post I saw from you when rating a song
tbh I actually don't think he hates it. Well, now he might but unless the pay was too good to pass on, he could have said no if he wanted to.

khahsja true

i don't think he hates it considered the press tweets posted here, but on the song he sounds bored and unconnected

There will be 5 chorists on stage. They're trying so hard to be a sequel to Bigger Than Us :ROFLMAO:
oh my is the new hod someone from the british delegation

I can see where it all went wrong now. They spent all their money on them release videos and setting up on to sing it on the Eifel Tower, and then realised they had no budget left for a song. That's the only possible logical explanation as to how they got that song.

I'm pretty sure it was Bilal who had a clear vision, not the delegation. By contrast, Tom didn't have a say in anything so far - not even the song itself! - so I don't think we should put our hopes into the staging. When the artist is treated like a mere prop, nothing good comes out of it because people can sense the inauthenticity.

I want to remain hopeful until we get to Rotterdam and actually get to see what they make of this entry. The song is growing on me and from what I can see the initial negative reaction on social media seems to be wearing off slightly since the official reveal. I do genuinely don't think this is as bad as people say. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking, I'm not sure. But having Georgia as my #1 last year I experienced Oto going from being the laughing stock of the season to it during rehearsals growing to "Omg this isn't too bad but probably won't qualify" in people's minds. So I'll remain optimistic. xup
