Additionally, Anggun announced world renowned fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier would be in charge of creating her look for the Eurovision final. Gaultier is no stranger to Eurovision as he has designed the outfits of numerous stars in the contest including Anna Vissi, Dana International, Elisabeth Andreassen and Les Fatals Picards.

Re: FRANCE 2012 - Anggun

yep, he used to comment ESC )))

The authors of the song are: Anggun (l), Jean-Pierre Pilot and William Rosseau (m). They used to collaborate with her previously (esp on the recent album). + they collaborated with Christophe Willem.
It seems the song is partially in English.

Re: FRANCE 2012 - Anggun

France – According to French newspaper “Le Parisien”, the title of Anggun’s Eurovision entry will be “Echoes (You and I)“. The title may reflect the whistling that reportedly echos throughout the entire song. As reported earlier, the song is said to be as engaging and inviting as Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” and Britney Spears’ “I wanna go”. The song has been written by Jean-Pierre Pilot e William Rousseau who are also behind Christophe Willem’s hit “Double Je” The song has been mixed by Veronica Ferraro, who has collaborated with David Guetta and Kelly Rowland on their latest albums. Anggun has repeatedly said that she wants an “American-style presentation” and a bilingual song in English and French.

Warner Music France has hinted that the song will be presented to the public before the end of January.

I am looking forward to this entry, not so keen on France selling out to English, but atleast they keep the majority of the song in French.

I like the description and just based on that I already see a strong contender.

France finally realising that if they keep singing completely in French, then they will never win. Seriously, get on board the English train! :p

The first part of this comment proves what's wrong with ESC, the second part is just sad.

And as a matter of fact I totally disagree, the reason France haven't had some major success in the past years is not because of the language, but because most of the songs weren't strong or appealing enough.

The second part was said in jest and the first part is just truth. How many recent non-English singing winners have we had? The stats don't lie. Whether your song is good or bad, it has a better chance of winning if done in English, I don't see why people have such a problem with that.

And I don't hate non-english songs. My 3 favourites last year were all sung in other languages (France, Bulgaria and Cyprus) and I appreciated the diversity, but from a more distant view, singing in English makes total sense as more countries will understand what is being said and can connect with the song more.
