Lucian Sanmartean from Gloria Bistrita is Steaua's latest aquisition. He is a good striker. We wanted him in 2003 also, but Panathinaikos gave Gloria Bistrita more money. He was one of the best players for SC Vaslui in the last seasons, so I think he is a great addition to the squad.

What to say after this result against a very serious team of Maribor, the Slovenian champions.I am very satisfied with both the play and the result. We are still not where we want to be, but this is a good signpost for the further period.

I am very happy that we are managing to move what we are doing on the trainings to the actual matches as well. We are very aggresive, offensive, there is less and less "customing" of the ball, it goes quite well now, and we have another quality now in the counter-attacks, where we improved a lot compared to some previous matches, and now they are much more dangerous. The middle also looks much more stable now, thanks to our newest acquisition Nikola Dričnčić who, so far, shows why he was brought here. Our young talent Danilo Pantić also shows a lot in these matches (it is not surprising since I know him very well and I know what kind of a talent he is), and if he continues like this, he will certainly secure his spot in the team when the real challenges in the championship start. So, generally, I am very happy with our transition in both directions.

I am also happy with all of the acqusitions's work as well. All of them, so far, show huge quality and show that they didn't come here for nothing. Danko Lazović is still not in his usual form, but even like this, he is a player that can solve the match with one move, and he has proven that several times in this period.

I am happy with the defense as well. This is a 4th match in a row that we didn't a conceive a goal, and Maribor didn't have any real chance yesterday except of several shots from the distance that are easy to keep by any goalie. We are finally starting to be dangerous during the breaks, like I want, as well, and this is a segment where we can improve even more.


Today we are playing the next friendly match, and the rival is Rabotnički. We will play with a combined squad this time, and on Friday, on our last friendly match against Shaktar Donetsk we will play with the strongest squad, and the team that is supposed to play in the first round of the spring half-season against Novi Pazar.

Shaktar Donetsk 1-0 Partizan


I am very satisfied with this last match as well, and I think we are ready for the championship. Shaktar is stronger than us, obviously, so it was a great opportunity to see where we are atm. And we were a great test for them as well, before their official match against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.

We had a good and correct pass during most of the match, as well as a good ball possession, while Shaktar was the one who was dominating on the field. However, they didn't create too much chances, as the defense of Partizan was ona a very high level in this match. And we would have saved the net, probably, if one of our players didn't get a red card for a very silly reason, and soon after that, we conceived a goal.


I am still very satisfied. We saw some weaknesses on which we must work on in this period, but some good things as well. Next week, the championship is resuimg from where it stopped, and the only thing that we should think on now is victory in the match against Novi Pazar. That is the most important match in the half-season, and 3 points are a must. We have a bad tradition and no victory in Novi Pazar, it is time for that to change. If we want to win the title, we must win, or at least want to win in all 15 matches until the end.

Radnički 1923 0:5 Partizan


The result says it all. This was the Partizan that I want to see all the time, the one that is dominating through the entire match. Everything deserves the highest Even despite such high victory, it was a tough match, and it is always hard to take points in Kragujevac. We opened the match the way we wanted, we were aggressive and were playing a high pressing on their last line from the first minute and in exactly this way we created our first chance and scored the first goal in the 2nd minute already which eased the job quite a lot, as the team of Radnički had to open even more, and it was easier for us to create chances. I am also satisfied with how the defense looked like as they didn't create any serious chance in 90 minutes, and didn't manage to threat us in the counter-attacks at all either, so it can be said that the defense was really functioning without any mistake.

Of course, no relaxation is allowed, as thanks to a tie in Novi Pazar, we are now second on the table, and only with the approach that we had in Kragujevac and in the last round we can achieve what we all want. This is a recipe on how we should play, and we should try to improve it even more if possible, of course. The next match against Rad on Sunday is a perfect opportunity for that.
