Steaua Bucharest made the first two transfers this winther break.

First, we bought Claudiu Keseru from Bastia. He left from FC Bihor to :fr: 11 years ago and never played in Liga 1 until now, though he is one of the best strikers in :ro:, as 2 seasons ago, while playing for Angers he was top scorer in Ligue 2.

The other one is macedonian goalkeeper Martin Bogatinov from Krpaty Lviv. Probably, next season after Tatarusnu leaves for Fiorentina, Bogatinov will be fighting with Nita for defendig Steaua's net.

Romanian Cup Semifinals, Fixtures:

Steaua Bucharest - Dinamo Bucharest

Trash them xcheers :D

As for the transfer period in Partizan, this is one of the best ones I remember, and, at least on the paper, the team will be drastically stronger than the one from the first-half season.

We signed 3 best players of Vojvodina (including their capatian and vice-captian) :

Miroslav Vulićević (on the position of right back)

miroslav-vulicevic2.jpg

Branislav Trajković (defender)

and Petar Škuletić (attacker + a product of Partizan's youth school Teleoptik)

And we also signed our ex-player Nikola Drinčić who returned to Partizan as free agent!

These 4 players are huge reinforcements, or at least they are expected to be, they certainly must prove what they are made of, as a place in the team is not guaranteed to anyone. I have to say I am quite satisfied with 4 all acquisitions so far, as all of them were on my wish-list.

We are in negotiations with several more players (one of them is a defender of :pt: SC Braga), so the transfer period isn't over yet for us, and if we have the chance to bring a good player, we will not miss it.

^^ We had a similar situation here some time ago :D Those will be 3 spectacles for sure :D Of course, I wish all 3 victories to Steaua :D

Partizan started with the preparations for the second half of the season. We are entering this second part of the season with a new energy in all structures of the club, which is very important, as a tough challenge is ahead of us, and our ambitions are clear - to win the 7th title in a row and become the Serbian club with the most titles for the first time in our history. Generations and generations of our people have been dreaming of this for decades, and this current team has a historical chance to be written with golden letters in the history of the club. I think that solely is a good enough motivation for everyone to work as hard as possible in order to win this title.

We all need to breathe in the same sails and only then our goals can be accomplished.

Even though we created quite a strong team after a while (and we are working on new reinforcments as well), there is absolutely no need to make some sort of "celebration" atmosphere because nothing is won, and nothing is certain in football. We have only 1 point of advantage over Crvena Zvezda, and a whole lot of work is ahead of us.

Right now, the most important things are to prepare ourselves both tactically and physically, and we can already start thinking on the first match in Novi Pazar which is extremely important and where we have a bad tradition, and no victory. The first next match is always the most important one.

No matter how much realistic it sounds, we must aim to get all 15 victories because only then we will depend solely on ourselves, and not on the other results as well.

And in the moments while I was writing the previous post, we got a new player, and the most recognizable one so far.

The newest acquisition of Partizan is Danko Lazović (Zenith St. Petersburg)!

The promotion of Danko will be held in the next couple of days.

^^ Don't worry about the results on the preparation matches, usually when they are bad, that promises a good half-season (that was always the case when it comes to us  ). Simply, preparation matches are used to try some combinations in the line-up, to see how the players react, if they can be rotated to another position, some tactical variations, etc..........

If it was otherwise, for example, Zvezda would have been the champion every year, but this way, the only title they can win is "champions of preparation matches"

Today, we are playing the first test match, and the rival is :at: Wolfsberger AC .

This will be a good test for the start and to see how the new team reacts on the ball, the tactics etc.............and :at: Wolfsberger AC is a great rival for this stage of the preparations.

Partizan 2:1 Wolfsberger AC

I am very satisfied after this first test match. Results are not primary for me at this point, but of course that it is always great when a match is won. Some aspects are on very high levels for this stage of the preparations, while some others need extra work. Especially the defense. We musn't let to be indolent during the breaks and to let the rival defenders have a total control in the jumps. Although, even from what I saw on the trainings, I predicted that there could be problems while defending the breaks, but that is why matches like this serve to show the weak spots of the team and where extra work is needed.

I am satisfied with other things. We were a dominant team in this match most of the time, we had a huge ball possession and also we pressed the rival quite well, we didn't have any dangerous counter-attacks on our half, and we could have won the match even with a bigger margin, since we had 3 more ideal scoring chances, and 1 regular goal was not counted for us near the end of the match, because of the foul on the goalie of the Austrian team that didn't exist.

So far, I can say we are on a good course. But a lot of work is still ahead, there is certainly no room for euphoria.

You are right! Last year we had a terrible winther break with 6 matches lost and 2 draws, and right after that we won against Ajax and Chelsea in official matches

I really hope, that Freiburg and Frankfurt will stay in Bundesliga. I´m so happy, that Freiburg won´t play in Euro League anymore, so the players have more time to regenerate.

I remember the website from my club Werder Bremen wrote something like "good result, great defense, great tactical achievement against a top club" and stuff like this
Considering the other results, we obviously played as crappy as the whole season

At least our manager makes a good job, since he is about to sign Obraniak from Bordeaux. I think he would be a great improvement for the offense... Hope we are able to stay in the Bundesliga. The relegation battle may going to be exciting as hell

FC Augsburg - Werder Bremen 3:1

our goal was an own-goal by an Augsburg player
4 shots on goal (whereas Augsburg had 20)
33 % ball possession
rate of misdirected passes: 43%

Jesus christ :? :(

I already count the days until the CL playoff games gonna start, because then I can finally enjoy football again

Alexandru Borceanu, Steaua's captain in the last 3 seasons has left for Trabzonspor, for a 1.3 milion Euros transfer fee! He was a great leader and was one of the key players for the title that we won last season.
