Turns out the female vocalist of Makea is Estonian. Has lived in Finland for 23 years and speaks Estonian with very noticable Finnish accent. Skype interview with her (in Estonian)

Awesome But I don't think that there are big chances that Makea will represent Finland... (looking at the betting odds)
But Finland would get 12 points for sure from Estonia (last time was 2008 semifinal I think )

Clarissa"s song is not good. It's über-repetitive and both doesn't make a good live.

Jasmin Michaela. I don't really like the verses... Chorus is good but very repetitive... Kind of disappointed with it !

Lauri Mikkola. I imagined this one more dynamic also, but it's a good song, though a little too slow...

Madcraft is also a little under the promise. But this is a pleasant listen to !

Makea : this is quite disturbing. The rap goes very fast compared to the chorus and the boy sounds quite agressive. Both sounds odd together... But this is a strong song !

Hanna Sky : God, I was intriguished by the snippet ! this is AWESOME !

I think this is a really clean electro pop song. Pretty sweet and she's charming..

Makea I didn't hate for some reason. I thought it was ok as far as stuff like that goes. The rest of the songs i'm not keen on.. and Lauri Mikkola's song could be considered plagiarism. It's going to bug me all afternoon but those piano chord progressions are ripped straight out of something else and I can't think what song it is.

The best is MAKEA by far!

Then I like snippets of Dennis Fagerström and Lili Lambert and I'm curious for Hukka ja Mama!

The worst is Hanna Sky, GOOSH, I have nightmares of outfit, image and song! :?

Well listened to the six songs and I would rank them from top to bottom as:

Madcraft - Shine bright = I found this the most likable song out of the 6. It is nice to listen too.
Makea - Painovoimea = I enjoyed this song, it would probably be my #1 but i don't like rap all that much
Clarissa ft Josh - Top of the World = Again i enjoyed this song, its just super repetitive.
Jasmin Michaela - Kertakäyttösydän = This is different, and i'm not sure what to make of it? one minute i like next i don't.
Hanna Sky - Hope = This song does nothing for me. I find it quite boring.
Lauri Mikkola - Going Down = Same as #5.

TBH if any of these were to go to ESC then i do not think that any of them will do well. I doubt Makea would qualify purely for the rap. Not really sure on the rest to make a judgement about qualification, but it is easy to say in a final I wouldn't expect any of them to be on the left side of the score board.

Thise are tough ones .... very different songs so I don't expect at top favorite ...


Madcraft are to much like the TV Show Glee (an american teenage music serie) and Hanna Sky has nothing to do with Finland look at Norway 2011 + 2012 no no no...
Clarissa and Josh very weak performance, jasmine is very different maybe to different and the slow song by Lauri may go down..... Mekea will be very popular in Finland but not in Europe.

Here Is my bet

1. Makea ... Winner because I think it will be a huge hit in Finland
2. Madcraft...... runner up every 14 teen year old most sexy singer and best relation to Glee.
3. Jasmin ... dark horse ..... its different
4. Lauri .... every mothers perfect son in law (Is he Gay???) does anyone has his phone number. oh no, now I forgot what this song was about....
5. Clarissa ... she might improve her singing, isn't there something called junior ESC?
6. Hanna in the Sky... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz


I do hope the quality of the next 6 songs are "more European"

I must say that the Finnish system is weird. First they give us the snippets from demo versions, then the full demo versions, then the final studio versions... and finally the live shows begin. Why all these phases, I really have no idea.

Madcraft have the best song, and Jasmin is pretty good as well. Hanna and Lauri are solid.Clarissa ft Josh and Makea are both rubbish.

I'd order the 6 songs this way:

1. Jasmin Michaela - Kertakäyttösydän: Different, I really like it and I'd be happy if this wins the NF
2. Hanna Sky - Hope: A nice Pop song
3. MAKEA - Painovoima: I'm not sure about it... I think it's alright but find it a bit annoying at the same time
4. Madcraft - Shine Bright: Not really my style of music
5. Clarissa feat. Josh - Top Of The World: Also not my style of music
6. Lauri Mikkola - Going Down: I just find this a really average and boring song to be honest

Hmmmm it's hard to judge from such a short snippet.. it could be ok I suppose



I've been away for a couple of nights without internet and Jasmine's song has been in my head. I've decided that it's brilliant and needs to be selected. It's clever, rhythmically wonderful, intelligent electro pop (if that makes any sense). I just love it. She performs it so well also. The way the song builds is exciting. The power hits you when you don't expect it. The fact it's so powerful with such a simple, clean electronic palette is testament to the songs craft. This to win!!!!!
