Iran can still win against Portugal. If it stays 0-0 for the whole match, it will be exciting the whole match. Nothing better than a sad Ronaldo :)

What a first half. Salah gave Egypt the lead early on lobbing the Saudi keeper. He should of had a second. Went for the dink again but put it wide. Then a chance for winger Trezeguet which he tried to bend into the far post but put just wide. Saudi then got a penalty when Yasser Al-Shahrani’s crossed struck the hand of egypt rb Ahmed Fathy. But then the 45 year old Essam Al-Hadary saved the penalty brilliantly tipping Fahad Al-Muwallad spot kick onto the crossbar. Saudi then got a second penalty right before half time which was softer dispatched home by Salman Al-Faraj to level things up for the green falcons. Saudi have dominated posession but didn’t start creating chances until the last 10 minutes or so the first half.

HT Saudi Arabia 1 Egypt 1

I also like Japan, they can play the passing game with just playes from the Japanese competition. We've seen it today, but another good example is Kashima Antlers vs. Real Madrid.

I gotta correct you. Only two of Japan's first eleven players are actually playing in the J.League. Quite a lot of them are playing in Germany, so we know many of their players well. Then there are players who played in German Bundesliga before (Okazaki and Hiroki Sakai) and players who never played in the Bundesliga but in different top leagues (Nagatomo, Honda).. so Japan isnt the "Unknown, mysterious power from a country far away" (even though this would make a great fairytale story) but an established team full of experience on international top level. From that perspective their success didnt come out of the blue, but still they are a nice surprise since Columbia, Poland and Senegal were rated much higher before the tournament. Now, after two matches, Japan certainly deserves it the most!

I can happily say we are just joking around a bit. Time is a real good thing in forgiving stuff. I was in Croatia and Serbia two years ago. (Those countries were in a war 20 years ago or so) and I realised that how they reacted on each other must be similar on how we reacted on Germany twenty years after the war in 1965. So I really can say time will heal all wounds, cause often, Dutch people want to see Germany win. And we are mostly just brothers and sisters right now.

i was also joking!!!!!! but nice to know your countries are doing alright

Well Done Saudi Arabia!

FT Saudi Arabia 2 Egypt 1

Salem Al-Dawsari wins it with the last kick of the game after a touch by Abdullah Otayf on a low cross in by right back Mohammed Al-Breik. El-Hadary made 2 good saves on Saudi midfielder Housain Al-Mogahwi and another on Muhannad Assiri but Egypt sat back a little to much and payed the price in the end

Iran would have deserved it so much. They fought. Great match. Portugal was very weak. Still - congrats. And to Spain.

Iran players were channeling their inner bollywood queen the whole game lul

Portugal typical Portugal like. That K.O match vs Uruguay gon be a snack, calling a 0:0 + penalty shootout right now.

Spain winning the group with 5 pts bless. Good for the knockout brackets tho.

A good first half of the Portuguese team, Iran made a very good game defensively. Ronaldo ends up missing a penalty, and the Portuguese players ended up feeling, and retreating a lot in the field, in my clear opinion, there was no penalty for either Portugal or Iran (A very difficult game for the referee),Iran it's a goal, and the game becomes complicated for portugal

A very difficult group, Morocco and Iran proved to be very good teams (pretty sad to see them leave,I think that in other groups could get through to the next stage)

I think I've never suffered so much to watch a football game xheat (maybe the 3-3 with Hungary in the Euro 2016 ),What matters is that we continue in the competition, come Uruguay :D (Mourinho so far was right in our group )

Tomorrow supporting :dk: :pe: (Peru deserves at least one victory,I really want France to qualify in 2nd place xshock1)

and I want to see :is: and :hr: pass the next stage

Croatia - Iceland and Nigeria - Argentina tonight at 20:00 CET.

I´m honestly way more interested in Nigeria - Argentina than our own game for tonight.

Anyone know any good livestreams to watch that?

:ru: has shown a lot of weaknesses yesterday. :ua: knew what they wanted from the start and they had a good realization too. I didn't expect such a convincing victory but I'm not too surprised as :ua: was definitely better .:pt: will have a hard time against them, especially if they keep playing like this.

I didn't expect Saudi Arabia to beat :eg: but they did play their best match from what I've seen (I was mostly watching the first match here) and it payed off. It's sad that :eg:ended this tournament with no points at all but I guess the lack of experience and some bad tactical decissions here definitely took their toll.

And, as for the other two matches, I gotta say I am impressed by both ::mo and :ir: .And I'm really sad that :ir: is not going further. They showed great organization in the defense and they also showed that they can be just as dangerous when attacking as well. ::mo also showed that they are not afraid of anyone. They were offensive on all 3 matches regardless of the rival and that's really impressive. My kudos for that.

Even though :ru: also has some problems in their play, I think they will beat :es: in the knock-out stage.

Morocco for honor like qualifying for the WC, winning etc against Spain and if it was not for the VAR to mark the goal onside it would be a great achievement in winning a top team like Spain, I guess we had soo much misfortune with FIFA and World Cup recently! Especially 2 clear penalties not awarded against Portugal which could be a win, the last min goal by Iran and the awarding the 2026 to United.

Morocco will once again bid for the World Cup with the 2030 edition being the sixth attempt as well as 2026 it made bids in in 1994, 1998, 2006 and 2010

Iran's team is still young enough. Please come back in 4 years and get an easier group xcheer

Great development from this country, also Morocco showed why I guessed them in 2nd place in my prediction. The group was more exciting than I expected. I really hope Group D will do us a favour tonight. Also maybe it can get thrilling also between Denmark and Australia?
