With a few hours in-between I’m going to leave this Eurovision behind and make peace with it. I enjoyed all the shows and BBC did an amazing job overall but talking about the results, there’s not a single country result I‘m happy about.

I especially can’t understand :it: :ee: :be: being so high and :sl: being so low. All in all the voting was boring and quite ridiculous.

But let’s look forward. Once again I discovered great songs and artists through Eurovision, that’s always a good thing.

Let all people in :es: pay the same amount of tax - despite their income, social status.
It's also fair to share the costs of running a country, equally, no?

We can't change the fact that some countries are bigger in size and population than others - that some countries in Europe generate a bigger GDP - and simply are richer than others.

Why should a country like :sm: pay the same amount like :de: for Eurovision? It doesn't make sense and it's not even possible. Eurovision would probably end up having the Big 5 countries, :nl: , :ch: and the Nordics.
Yeah, I agree smaller countries shouldn't pay the same as the big ones, but why can't the nordics, Switzerland and Luxembourg pay more? The countribution should be proportional to each country's PCI and population, and get rid of the Big 5.

I'm kind of in the same place as you, feeling a bit down today about the result and after today I think I'll be taking a step back from the forums until the next season really gets going.

If I am to take positives, it's that Finland came 2nd (it could have gone far worse), Belgium did surprisingly well, and I enjoyed my visit to Liverpool (my first Eurovision attendance).
Apart from that I don't think there's a single result I'm happy with, well maybe Czechia who I think finished 10th, which is respectable and I'm happy for the girls.

Jury voting

From :pl:

To :pl:
:2: :be:
:2: :il:

+ 1 from :ro: (we exchanged with them last year already) and 6 from :ua:, where jury received a backlash from people because of 0 to Ochman.

Just imagine what we are going to hear from some far-right freaks or from TVP about this 12 for Israel...

I voted for
Sweden x5
Czechia x1
Croatia x1
Belgium x1
Finland x1

It was a great show, deserving winner in my opinion, 5 years till our last "real" pop winner and 5 years since our last female winner. I also feel like it's the first time my actual top 2 ended first and second.
Very happy with the results of Czechia and Belgium even if they both deserved one or two spots higher !

The countries I’m rather happy for are probably :fi:  and :cz:.

:fi: deserved the victory though.

Talking about Loreen, does this woman have any human emotions and reactions or is she in da zone 24/7? Her reactions during the voting were nonexistent.

I totally agree, biggest surprise was Belgium... I'll try to remain soft in my words but the song was bad to me, very repetitive, kind of cringy too

EBU should create a rule stating that the stage props should be made to be on stage during a postcard time. If you need extra-time, you have to find an other solution. It's equity for all acts, and props shouldn't have an influence on the running order.

But Belgium was vocally flawless. Same with Lithuania. And I even give them extra credit for having great backing singers (and incorporated into their performance). Yeah, Belgium isn't my favourite but imho it was absolutely deserved.

Loreen is prone to ayahuasca. She is probably out of the touch with the material world.

Maybe, but the song was just meh.
