We don't want any scandal, we just want the best opening ever (even better than the 2016 one) + Martin Garrix for the opening or at some moment during the final show !

I've decided to become more active in Eurovision twitter so will start using a separate account for my thoughts - go and follow me SeanESCUnited for the hottest/coldest takes of 2020!

UK = Adele/Jessie J/Little Mix/Ed Sheeran/Sam Smith/Anne-Marie/Ellie Goulding/James Arthur
Denmark = Lukas Graham
Australia = Sia Furler

all of them, in one edition? that will be EPIC. I want it to happen at least next year.

Okay this is technically 2019 news but:

Iceland’s RÚV fined €5000 over Hatari Palestinian flag incident

What are your thoughts?

I would have given a much harsher fine tbh. Hatari knew exactly what they were doing, and they had absolutely no right or any place to do it. Absolute attention whores imo and eurovision was absolutely no place for it, same goes for Madonna. Maybe RUV will think and act better in future with their entrants, but i'd have made them pay a hell of a lot more, or gone further.

The EBU need to grow a spine and make real examples of countries doing these political acts, instead of tip toeing about it.

In the wise words of Leonora...

Don't get too political

You forgot some people :
The Netherlands : Martin Garrix.
Spain : Enrique Iglesias, Alvaro Soler.
France : Indila, Zaz, Gims.
Belgium : Stromae.
Sweden : Zara Larsson.

Lol.

Off-topic but I’ve started to comment on wiwibloggs frequently and noticed that my comments are deleted, and I’m not really sure why? Anyone experienced something similar?

Me too, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. But it seems like it doesn't depend of the opinion of your comment so it must be the blog that has some issues.

Tumblr, mostly.
I highly doubt we will ever see one of them at Eurovision. :rolleyes:

The Belgian HoD quipped in an interview that he asks Stromae every year but he always declines. :lol: If Stromae were to ever say 'yes' (he won't, but w/e sake of argument), he'll be faster on that Eurovision stage than Aina Mun Pittää. It's not like Belgium doesn't try to go for established names - their intented contenstants usually turn it down because they dislike taking part in a scored competition (Emma Bale) or because of scheduling conflicts (Bazart). Eurovision fever is growing in Belgium however, and I wouldn't be surprised if a legit big name repped us in a future contest, but for now I'd say Belgium's ambition will lead to someone semi-famous to be our rep (BILLIE plz.)

Also all this "BIG NAME FOR SPAIN" nonsense is going to result in another flop 23rd place, isn't it? They had better fucking not waste a Ruth Lorenzo return on whatever insipid gobshite they have in mind this time.

I found it amusing how every year they ruin it on the staging. Previously because they do literally nothing and then this year when their NF staging was perfect with not a lot going on and they totally ruin it by going completely over the top and the opposite way. :lol: Never the less, I didn't like Dancing in the rain at all tbh, too much shout singing and repetition of "the raiiiin". So I'd rather she stayed away. That said, the 2014 NF was a literal god send. All the crying and then the gifs. xheart

Weird :?
my post was posted and deleted later so I doubt there were some bugs or issues really... and it's happened before

This logic doesn't jive with me because it assumes the Spanish songs are always good and well... they just aren't lol? Your statement holds for "La venda" which was their first good entry since 2014 and had bombed because of its bizarre staging (which I loved ftr), but Edurne, Barei, Manel and Almaia were all doomed by their songs . Nobody takes Spain seriously because they sent silly, frivolous shitsongs all the time.

The issue is wider than just songs. I doubt TVE has any clue what to do and they appear all too eager to blame everyone other than themselves. I have not forgotten Wiwibloggs's interview with Almaia's staging director who blamed the FANS for daring to like other songs (especially "Toy") more and accused RTP of sabotaging "Tu cancion" for not catering exactly to his capricious needs... like, how about you fucking adapt yourself to the facilities provided by the host, you entitled piece of shit? It's sad that a country as passionate about ESC as Spain gets constantly dragged down by the bitter old nags that run their entry mill. bah.

Oh, I like Say Yayayay. It's fun. I don't think it's a good song though, if that makes sense?
