In what universe is trackshittaz local. Their genre is rap (global), its not yodelling so it can be local.

in the upper austrian universe of course. there's more to local implications than just yodeling.
they were rapping in upper austrian dialect and played with the mingling of rap stereotypes and agricultural notions and allusions. They even denied that their genre was rap, they called it "Traktorgängsta-Partyrap" (I think you'll get it without translation). So yes - that's a VERY local thing. I'd go so far as to say this is as local as it can get.
Wouldn't they have been chosen for ESC - nobody outside Austria would know them actually.

Rap is still global, no matter in which language it is rapped. I think the other user was referring to music styles in the sense of local like local balkan sound, oriental sound, yodelling, folklor, Greek sound..

Nobody would know 90% of artists except their own countries or if u are very famous in neighbouring countries like lazarev. So, that doesn't apply just to trackshittaz sondern to 90% of artists.

If you read my posts carefully, you'll notice two things: trackshittaz themselves DENIED that they are making rap, they created a specific (and very local) subspecies. No way of being global.
The reason for them not to be known outside Austria is precisely that. Their whole story, their behavior, their texts, their language - EVERYTHING referred not just to Austria, but only to a part of it. How more local can you get?!
You can believe me - as an Austrian I know what I'm talking about when I call something local that is specifically local. btw are you german or austrian? (I'm just asking because you slipped a "sondern" in your post)

Secondly: Loin d'ici who posted the question (that's "the other user") liked my answer to his post - so it seems we understood each other quite well...

Trackshittaz can call it whatever they want, it's still a rap. You can call milk purple as much as u want, but milk is always white. I'm done with discussion about ts and rap. I'm neither German or Austrian. I just moved to one German speaking country if u really must know.

And if you add let's say a dash of espresso in a glass of steamed milk? Are you drinking milk or a capuccino? Even if you are right and we qualify them as pure rap that does not make them less local. And that was what you started the discussion about. But let's leave it there.

No, I don't have to, actually. I was just curious. ;)

Any bets on which broadcaster would release their artist first? I'm feeling like it's Belgium (VRT).

It's kinda strange that the deadline for confirming prelimanary participation has already passed and we still haven't heard anything from countries such as Poland, Hungary, Malta, Moldova, Armenia, Italy yet.

After Azerbaijan announcing its participation on the day when the deadline expired I thought that other countries would follow.

What do you guys think, will 2020 be the year without scandals or same old same old. This year we had Madonna scandal and the mess with her vocals, we had again huge discrepancies between televoters and jurry and our winner Norway not finishing even in top 5, we had scandal with Belarus jurry which meant a mess with adding scores after eurovision was over and announcing another jurry winner, we had Laura bretan scandal (thank u will and deban for not letting her in), we didn't have stage invasion. Ohh, and there were more than usual recaps and interval acts resulting in early morning the final results. So I don't wanna know what can happen in 2020.
