57 countries would mean 25 and 26 countries per semifinal, almost like this year.

As I said million times there will be many difficulities (distance, time, seasons). Moreover exactly as wvyq614 said if Australia joins then and others will want to join. And personally speaking I don't want Worldvision. Each continent should have its contest

I don't believe that Australia will ever take a part in Eurovision Song Contest :p But if it's true - ok, I will live with it. Good thing is that sometimes, they have better attitude and bigger engagement than some European countries
If Australia can take part, then China and Japan can also be eligible to do it. It would soon be a Worldvision.
Why? China and Japan are different cases than Australia.

At the moment, the rules for ESC 2015 say that only Active EBU members can take part, Australia's three EBU members are still listed as Associate members, so are not eligible to take part. I know for JESC the EBU are looking into allowing non-EBU broadcasters to take part, but that hasn't happened yet. Hopefully we can see Australia as an interval act again this year.

I'm wondering what the overall musical standard might be next year.

2010/2011 had many sublime songs, neutralizing each other, whereas 2012 and 2013 had clear favourites and a grey area of not so entertaining acts. 2014 saw a five horse race and a couple of underrated songs (Finland, Switzerland), but that was it.

So, will the standard rise in 2015, since Austria's win could enthuse the countries again to raise their stakes? Or will it be as always, mediocre, with a handful of great songs?

By my point of view
2010 - very good year
2011 - extremely mediocre year
2012 - one of best years in recent times
2013 - weak year
2014 - really nice year
2015 - ?
I hope that upcoming contest will break that negative trend :p

Oh, I thought in 2011 everyone was poised to win, not so much in 2012 and 2013

I thought last year was extremely weak, nothing jumping out as a hit. Thankfully I like country music and could root for NED but that was it. Since Euphoria I feel the next two winners have been major flops, not just my opinion but by they're poor chart performances too.

So Eurovision.TV posted an article stating that at the moment, there are 38 countries confirmed with Albania and Greece hopefully confirming soon. These numbers don't add up. Only 37 countries have (this can be seen on the wikipedia article if Albania and Greece are excluded). This can mean two things. Either Eurovision.TV messed up on their numbers or one country has confirmed that we don't know about. Which?
