Yestersay, :mk: - :rs: 89:75

xshockxshock I was quite happy with the performance up to the 3rd quarter, when it was 70:45. It was surreal and I couldn't believe that we faced Serbia. Then Ivkovic ordered a pressing throughout the court, which Macedonia made couple of silly mistakes by not taking the ball out of their half on time. It was a great game and a victory that is making up for the previous two defeats, and it gives :mk: a chance to go to the next round. I was really amazed by one action by the Serbian players. One of their players, passed through McCalleb easily, passed it on and another player dunked the ball, like you would only see in NBA Playstation games.  The next match is vs. :ba: and I am an optimist for that game.

Just a recap of what happened so far in the other groups:
A:
- Initially, I thought Israel will be the one to go through to the next round and that would end up 2nd. Will be kinda tough for them to go through now with Ukraine almost in and France and Belgium right behind them. I thought Ukraine will be last for some reason, with Belgium being 5th, but it doesn't look that way.
B:
Compared to group A, group B is completely opposite. It's the toughest group imo and everyone there has a victory and defeat already.
C:
I think Croatia traced its way to the next round. Their key match imo was against Georgia and they won that one. They need to win over Poland and Czech Rep to go through, but I don't think that will be a problem. Czechs still have a chance, but I don't think they can do it (not after they lost 60:39 to Spain, just now). Slovenia is doing really well and hopefully they will keep going that way in their group. Nice job Zmajceki! ;)
Group D:
Another tough and interesting group. I knew Finland would do well, especially because 2 years ago, they were in an outsider position and they ended up third to go to the next round. Now that outsider position is for the Swedish team. Before the start, I said that the key game for Finland is to win over Turkey in the first round and they did that! A surprise for me is Italy doing so well, and Russiia so bad. Now Finland will need one more win to proceed. The biggest surprise for me was today. Sweden won over Russia with 81:62!!!

Croatia 74 - 67 Poland YAAAAAAY!

Another match with heart attack finish! Why cannot we avoid it? haha:)
Six minutes before the end we stopped, no score, Poles almost tied it! I couldn't believe it. But Bogdanović and, what is surprising, Markota - did great in the end, when it was the most important:)
I hope our players and a game finally "woke up":). However, it is a long way to reach the second round!

Tomorrow - we play Slovenia.....it will be tough, they will have huge support of the auditorium since they are the host team, but I think it ain't impossible to play against them.

Germany lost again, this time vs. Great Britain - I really expected more after we defeated France in the first match.

Finland vs Russia was quite a thriller! The equalizer for Finland came right when the game was ending, and the final blow only came in the second overtime.
In the end, an 86-83 victory puts Finland at seven points with four games played, and apparently gives us a spot in the top three of the group. xyaay

I forgot to comment our defeat from :mk: .

Completely deserved victory of the Macedonian team. They simply wanted victory more than us from the start. We entered without any aggression, apathetically and the defense didn't work out all, the Macedonian team was in a huge euphoria that I expected, and there were some referee decisions that are very questionable so all this created a huge difference in the start. McCaleb played like he was on drugs, and we couldn't stop him. I am not too sad that we lost although it could have been with a smaller difference but, life goes on..........

In 10 minutes we are playing against :lv: . This will be a very tough match. Latvia has always been a tricky rival for us and now they have improved which can be seen from their performances so far. While they are still traditionally great shooters and the team that depends on the shot a lot, now they have some great combinations under the racquett as well, they know to put the ball to the center positions and easily solve missmatch situations. Still, it is their trademark that even the centers are great shooters and, if we want to win we must stop their shot.

Bertans and Blums are the most dangerous players of Latvia, so a lot will depend on how we manage to control them. Good luck and may the better rival win in the end.

I'm have to admit, I'm a little sad right now, but also happy for Croatia. Congratulation guys, you really deserved it :)

+1

Although I have to say I'm really afraid of the Czech team, they seem to be pretty good + they smashed Georgia today... It will be bumpy. :?
