Where is Jasikevicius, not in the team?

:rs: - :lt: starting very soon..........

Lithuania, even despite these mentioned problems, is a favorite in this match. We will not to be focused to the maximum if we want a victory in this match. The whole team has to contribute everything they can both in the attack and in the defense. Even without Jasikevicius, :lt: is one of the contenders for the medal, as, after all, :lt: is a land of basketball and a team with huge tradition. You never know how may have his day, may it be Lavrinovic, Kleiza or somebody third.

The key for winning this match is defense. We must be very active on take-overs and we must leave as little space for 3p-shooting as possible, as if we manage to neutralize the Lithuanian strongest weapon (the shot) we will be much closer to the victory.

Good luck to both teams and may the better one wins!

Spain 68 - 40 Croatia......

Terribly and shameful! Opening was disastrous, no matter it was against Spain, who was pre-favourite. NOTHING worked out!
This is just unforgivable and if our team doesn't wake up in further matches, it can be only a bigger shame!

No surprise - Serbians were a way WAY better than Lithuanians. The way we played was kinda pathetic, and we were struggling a lot. Anyway, I hope we will improve by our next game. :} Congratz to Serbia. Well deserved victory.

I think that in general all of today's matches were kinda unexpected - most of the time, teams which were expected to loose somehow won, or point differences were very little in the case like this.

Also, I would say there is no need to predict anything because it obviously gonna be a lot more surprises this year. :)

My own theory: The Czechs played with :hr: and the Croatians played for :cz: and no one noticed it xrofl3

Now seriously, what was wrong with Croatia today? They seemed an amateur team. I expected my country to win but also expected a WAY rougher game. They should work a lot harder their defense. If you are Croatian and read this, please go yourself. I bet you can defend better than them..

:tr: also disappointed me.

I'm not an expert about basketball, but I guess this was a good achievment from our young team xheya
France is one of the favourites of this Euro and Germany had never a quality basketball team (unfortunately we never cloned Nowitzki :D )
Hope they can keep their good condition

:mk: - :me: 80:81

It sucks when you start like this, but it sucks even more when the referees play a big role in the whole game. Macedonia issued a complaint to FIBA about the last attack, because the shot should have counted as a point (due to net violation) and there is a chance that the result can be registered as 82:81 for :mk:. Macedonia isn't Spain, France or Germany, so the complaint will probably not count. Anyway, the defense didn't work today. :mk: let +7 in the last minute and a half to vanish in thin air. I think this was the decisive match. I am not optimistic for the upcoming matches. Lithuania won't lose 2 games in a row and therefore I don't really expect much tomorrow or in the game after tomorrow. :p

I mentioned, not here, but elsewhere, that if Finland wants to go to the next round, they will have to win over Turkey in the first round. Of-course nothing is decided yet anywhere, but the Finns made a big step towards the top12.
For me the only big surprise was the German victory over France. I thought France had a clean walkthrough in group A, followed by Israel, but that didn't happen. The results in group A and B came completely opposite from what I thought they will turn out (although I had a hunch that :mk: will lose to :me: in the first round, just like 2 years ago).

I understood nothing.
Anyway our basketball is in severe crisis for the past couple of years, senior team is what I meant. I totally forgot about the game so I can't really talk about it... but I'm sure we sucked. :D
Younger teams are doing really good actually we've had a couple of european titles in the past 5 years.
I think the main problem is our coach that is a bit old fashioned, I think we need someone new to lead the team. Same goes for our women's team. We suck at coaching. :'D

We won, but we sucked in defense... I almost threw something in my TV because I was so mad at their play... Hopefully this will pick them up, and they'll finally wake up. :(
