lol thankfully it's the public and not the artists giving points, as the artists obviously trying to avoid high points to their biggest competitors

Is it 100% televoting in the final or do the juries have some say there?

Nah I wouldn't say that the artists are purposely giving low points to their biggest competitors (if they can even be called that). A lot of these artist present different music styles and they have different tastes so its not surprising to see the most "outside of the box" songs being voted for.

In the semis, its 50/50 juries and televoters. In the final I'm not sure but based on previous years, they have one round that is 50/50 to choose 2 finalists which then goes to 100% televoting.

Well i'm not saying they do, it's just ironic that the publics pre-favorites are getting suspiciously low points from their competitors

According to wikipedia it's 100% televoting in the final, but I dunno.

No, the results of the first round of the final will be decided by jury and televoting. The top 2 will go to a superfinal. Only televoting decides which of the two remaining songs win.

I see! Thanx for the info, I thought it would be this way but in wikipedia someone has wroted 100% televoting so someone better change that info then.

Oh well, I think we can say bye bye to Ithaka then :( Something tells me juries will vote for something more like last year's entry :(

But that song is soo cool, fresh and in Estonian, and still catchy enough to have mass-appeal imo. Cross my fingers :D

I think that Orelipoiss may become so-called black horse and achieve a very good place in the end. Leading singer Jaan Pehk represented Estonia already in 2003 in Riga as a member of group Ruffus. Backing singer Robin Juhkental represented Estonia in 2010 in Oslo as lead singer of group Malcolm Lincoln. And winner of 'Estonia got talent', blade of grass player Erki-Andres Nuut, is also included in the act with his unusual music instrument.

Re: EESTI - Estonia 2011

Our second round starts in about two hours. I took a look at the five biggest polls. In all of them, Ithaka Maria–Hopa’pa-rei!, Sõpruse puiestee–Rahu ainult rahu and MID–Smile were on top 5.
Most of them had Rolf Roosalu–All & Now and Orelipoiss–Valss.
One poll suggested Tiiu Kiik–Second Chance makes it to the final (very unlikely I think). One suggested Shirubi Ikazuchi–St Cabath.

I hope Mimicry makes a good performance and gets to the final. I don't want them to win the whole thing though, I prefer Outloudz, I have been a fan of the soloist, Stig, for years.

Re: EESTI - Estonia 2011

YES Ithaka Maria is through to the final!!

Now she just needs to win!!

Very good final line-up indeed, but for me Ithaka is the one that stands out!

Original, fresh, cool, catchy and in Estonian!! :)

It will stand out for sure in Eurovision, and in a year with almost no entry in native language, even more so!

The order of performance in the final was supposed to be publically drawn today at 2PM, but as of yet I can't find anything about it in the news.

So meanwhile, you can watch the performances in the second semifinal here.

Hmm I dunno if Ithaka's starting number is good or bad. Quite often is bad to be first out, will televoting start directly or after everyone has sung?
