Hmm I dunno if Ithaka's starting number is good or bad. Quite often is bad to be first out, will televoting start directly or after everyone has sung?

I'm not sure, but in the semifinals it's been after everyone has sung, so I assume this will be the case in the final as well. Ithaka Maria herself said she's quite glad to be first as it lets her actually enjoy the rest of the show. IMO her song is enough of a strong favourite that being first shouldn't do any harm. Most voters will probably have heard the songs several times (or at least once) before anyway.

The last day performance from Ithaka wasn't that powerful as I hoped. Probably the problem is of cameras or something and Ithaka should move a bit more, but that song is quite difficult to sing so maybe she just can't do 2 things in one time. But I think in Düsseldorf it will look more more better because of the background effects and big stage.

I believe so too!

Ithaka has that kind of entry that needs a bigger stage and more space to put up a real show.

Crossing my fingers. I'm afraid the juries might vote against her though :(

In Eesti Laul final are 100% televoting. So I hope people will vote for her. I will do this for sure.
But in Düsseldorf you yeah never know what people and juries like. But I still stay in my opinion that Ithaka will be the best choice from us.

Oh it is 100% televoting?

According to Wikipedia it is, but someone in here said it's 50/50 in the first round and then 100% in super final only.

If I understand the rules on the Eesti Laul website correctly, the first round in the final will be 50/50, and then the top 2 songs will go to a final face-off which will be decided by televoting only.

Rules here (in Estonian), the relevant bits:

6.4.3 zürii ja publiku poolt lauludele antud punktid liidetakse. Kui pärast liitmist koguvad
kaks või enam laulu võrdse punktisumma, läheb paremusjärjestuses ettepoole enim
telepubliku hääli saanud laul;
6.4.4 Finaalsaates pannakse pärast punktis 6.4.3 toodud punktide liitmist telepubliku seas
hääletusele 2 (kaks) enim hääli saanud laulu. Võitjaks osutub laul, mis saab
telefonihääletusel enim hääli.

This is what I feared, maybe now it's bye bye to Ithaka then :(

Oh well cross my fingers

I'm happy with both Ithaka Maria and Getter, but I'd prefer Getter. Ithaka-Maria's song is so un-Estonian. It should represent Turkey. Plus I don't like that she's half-naked. So much Shakira, so little personality in her.

Rockefeller street isn't the most original song I have ever heard, but it's catchy and it will certainly be noticed. Unlike Ithaka-Maria, Getter has her own personality and she's just so sweet and so estonian. I think I'll vote for her.

Re: EESTI - Estonia 2011

How has Getter more personality? How is a song in English "more Estonian" than a song in Estonian?

Now I know Ithaka acts a little Shakira, but as for who as "more personality" or "more Estonian" I don't see why Getter wins that battle.

What I wish is that Ithaka changes the Shakira outfit for the final, other than that her song is just the best and since it's in Estonian, I think it's more Estonian than any track in English regardless the style, afterall it's the national language.

But it's a matter of taste, but I don't see how it's less "own style" and less "Estonian" than the other though.

My personal ranking for the final. Differs quite a lot from the wider audience I guess.

1. Outloudz
2. Orelipoiss
3. Mimicry
4. Victoria
5. MID
6. Rolf Roosalu
7. Jana Kask
8. Noorkuu
9. Ithaka Maria
10. Getter Jaani

I'm hoping that either Outloudz or Getter Jaani will win. I bet my money on them.

Hmm but you have Getter last on your ranking, but you're hoping Getter will win still?

As for Outloudz I'm starting to believe they'll win, but I think it would be a mistake really, it would be like last year.

Re: EESTI - Estonia 2011

Well, judging by online polls only Ithaka-Maria and Getter Jaani have chances to win. And I'm perfectly OK with that :D . Other songs are really unbearable.

And yes, Ithaka's song is in estonian, but that's the only "estonian" thing about it. If I'd hear it without words (or the chorus which doesn't include any words anyway) I would never say it's from Estonia. And the other thing, for more than half of the song she just keeps screaming one "word". It gets annoying. I've known Ithaka-Maria before and I wouldn't say this song is really her style in the first place.

As for Getter, she participated in the Estonian Idol last year and I think through that show I came to know her personality. She really is childish, innocent, super sweet, happy all the time... and she put much of that into Rockefeller Street.

Oh so Getter is an "Idol" act? Didn't know that..

That means she's automatically have a legion of young fans voting for her lol. It's the same thing everywhere.

Well, I'd say none of the songs are necessarily "Estonian", that was just my point, so atleast Ithaka is singing in Estonian. In the end it comes down to taste.

Will be interesting to see who's winning, I'm afraid none of them will win though.

If Estonia is wise, it will support Ithaka-Maria. Her song has more to it than Rockefeller St which is a very simplistic pop tune that won't stand out enough at the ESC. If Ithaka is able to perform the song well live, it has enough quirkiness, and she has enough charisma for it to do very well at the ESC, and this is an opinion coming from someone in the UK assessing the relative merits of the 2 songs objectively.

About Mimicry, The Storm -
I'd like to know something, some reactions;

This entry immediately had a "80's-Déja-vu-impact" on me (which isn't per default bad ;)) -
this one totally reminds me of "Heaven 17".
Maybe it's the vocals, maybe the song-style, or both, I'm not yet sure.
What do you think?

Agree!

Getter is more "typical" imo, and I am not surprised that is why it's the favorite among the Eurovision fans, but Ithaka stands out more.

And I cannot stress this enough: Use of native language is a big PLUS! :)

Getter and Ithaka Maria are the favourites, BUT - since the jury also has a say, it might be that the final two will be one of those (I'd guess Ithaka Maria) and Outloudz. In that case, it's not necessarily a foregone conclusion at all that the favourite will win. If this happens, we might well get a repeat of last year's final when Malcolm Lincoln upstaged the favourite Lenna.

Re: EESTI - Estonia 2011

I've heard a DJ talking in one Russian radio station in Estonia that all russians should vote for Victoria (Victoria is Russian) - that might drastically manipulate the voting results. Also in Estonian Eurovision fan page there is a voting going on and most russians have given 12 points to victoria...

Anyway, my favourite is getter and i hope that she makes it to Eurovision :D

Although there have been some other rumors that there is a spam e-mail that asks everyone to vote for Ithaka and defiantly send this letter to your friends. But I cant confirm that...

EDIT:
The Last time when the native language song won, was in 2007 and before that in 1991, so how can be a singing in your native language a big plus?:?:
