I agree with what Sean said, it was eerily quiet in the hall.

Did anyone else feel uncomfortable with all the Azeri propaganda? The postcards were all about how wonderful Azerbaijan/Baku is, and no connection whatsoever to the country/singer about to perform. The 3 towers were shown in almost every clip. Many video segments were repeated in several postcards as well. Looking from an outside perspective, it made Azerbaijan look sort of pathetic and like attention seekers. I felt uncomfortable watching the postcards.

Agree with you... IMO they were all the same ^^.... The German company "Brainpool" did more funny and personal postcards, but they were refused.

And you are complaining, while you have every year 12 points from Portugal? How pathetic...

Not true. Since ESC 2002 Cyprus has awarded Greece 132 points, while Portugal has awarded Spain 93. In that time Cyprus has performed in the final 6 times and Greece has awarded it 12 points every time.

How pathetic to make a claim you can't even prove!

Not only Azerbaijan, the crowd reacted also when Turkey got points and it was almost as intense as when Azerbaijan got points. Do the Azeris love Turkey only because of religion?
No, it's because Azeris are a Turkic people. They speak almost the same language. They are to Turks as Greek Cypriots are to Greeks.

how were we supposed to react to scores? our people generally prefer hiding strong emotions. especially if you remember that it was almost 4 a.m. here in Baku and everyone was extremely tired and wanted it to be over soon

93 points are an avarage of 8.4 points for each year, which is a great point. That means Spain has a neighbour which support it all the way without looking to the quality of Spanish entry. So still pathetic.

What happens if you rank the points in the two semifinals? :D

1. Sweden - 181
2. Serbia - 159
3. Russia - 152
Azerbaijan - 150 (final)
4. Albania - 146
5. Romania - 120
6. Greece - 116
Germany - 110
7. Lithuania - 104
Italy - 101
8. Moldova -100
9. Estonia - 100
Spain - 97
10. Ireland - 92
11. Cyprus - 91
12. Turkey - 80
13. Bosnia&Herzegovina - 77
14. Iceland - 75
15. Malta - 70
16. Ukraine - 64
17. Denmark - 63
18. Macedonia - 53
19. Hungary - 52
20. Norway - 45
France - 21
UK -12

Well, most obvious changes are Turkey, Macedonia and Estonia climbing up, Greece, Romania, Lithuania, Ireland going down in the final ranking, compared to their semi ranking.

Top 4 stays almost the same, just a slight switch between Serbia and Russia. Norway, Hungary, Denmark, Malta, Iceland, Bosnia&Herzegovina also remain at the bottom in the same order as their semi results.

I found them hilarious

My only problem was with the fact that Azerbaijan's postcard was all about Karabakh. Considering the whole Armenia situation I thought this was a blatant political statement and I'm surprised the EBU hasn't heavily punished them for making such a move.

In my opinion except of first, results were awful.
Norway is last? United Kingdom, Denmark, Iceland? And Serbia is second with this boring performance? Babushkia is third? Uhh... Italy is not in top 3? France is 22nd?

Same opinion.

Congrats Loreen, out of all the entries that came top 4, I'm very glad that this won.

I wasn't too disappointed over the UK's placement, as it just didn't stand up to the competition. I like the Hump, and while lyrically it was the best English language entry, the structure and the vocals weren't spot on. Spain, Serbia and Estonia sent superior ballads.

I was more saddened by the fact that Iceland, Denmark and Italy didn't place as high as I expected them too. Especially Italy, whose entrant I respected highly for criticising the Status Quo in Azerbaijan. I couldn't fathom why Albania or Turkey placed highly, but I guess like any form of art, music is highly subjective.

I voted for: Iceland, Spain, Italy and Germany.

I'm very sad about UK too. It was my favourite. It seems Jury voting is something theatrical and nothing effective over tele-voting. Otherwise, it is impossible for a music authority giving 0pt for such a beatiful song of Engelbert Humperdinck.

You are counting a bit wrong. Azerbaijan got 150 points where they had the chanse getting it from 41 countrys, same for all the big 5, all the other semifinalists only got the chanse to get points from 20 countrys.
