One spokesperson with brain:

'It is good to be able to vote and it is good to have a choice. Good luck on your journey Aserbaidschan.
Europe is watching you!'

Danke, Anke!!
Are we in Europarliament or something? F politics in the A. Imho political statements shouldn't belong to a song contest )))

I guess that Russia was underrated by the juries, but, anyway, congrats to Loreen. She wasn't my favorite, but she did well. Spain, Italy, Malta, Macedonia, Greece, UK, Iceland, Romania, and Ukraine are underrated, while Albania and Germany are overrated.

I only replied what she said :)
And I only replied what I think about her quote.
Also I'd like to warn everyone do not discuss politics here and... nations (not refering to you ;) ).
Discussing spokespersons is ok, offending nations is not ok.

Don't want to discuss anything. Calm down :) it was only something different than 'Great show, Great dresses'
And the expressions of the hosts were awesome :D

A sparkling night's entertainment.

Back in the old days of Eurovision, the Russian entry would have won by a mile. It's nice that now classy, mature music can come out on top.

Fair play to Azerbaijan, they put on a great show. The Crystal Hall was an amazing venue and the lights show was without doubt the best ever.

Speaking about hosts. I really liked Leyla :D We had a good laugh @Eldar though
Hope that Swedish team will find more entertaining hosts.

I think you'll find that what you explain there is precisely what I mean... politics. In a song contest, why should it mean anything at all that someone speaks your language? It's politics that makes you think, "Hmmm, he's singing in Greek. My mother tongue is Greek, so I must vote for him." If you were judging on merit that wouldn't be a consideration.

And you are complaining, while you have every year 12 points from Portugal? How pathetic...

And the fact that 40 countries voted for Russia "proves" that
Russia's second place had nothing to do with blocks and politics.
we all knew they will be in top 3. only diff is that many hated that idea.

You are nonsense. You say if Loreen singed the same song for Spain instead of Sweden, you think Spain, Italy or France couldn't win? All countries voted for Sweden. It's nothing about "block votes". All countries voted really high for Sweden. Even if you discard votes of all Nordic countries, Sweden still would win. None of countries could win an ESC, with "block votes". You have to get votes from all countries to win ESC, and that is about creativity of your song you sent.

For instance, Turkey won Eurovision only once and Turkey got 8 points from even Cyprus which always give 0 points to Turkey.

To sum up, to win an ESC you need to send a creative enough song and get votes from all countries. Block votes will never be sufficient to win a contest. I dont think Spain, Italy and France send any interesting songs if we consider last years of ESC. Germany sent one last year and it won. Simple is that.

Totally agree. If Euphoria was sent by San Marino, it would still win. I strongly believe that... The thing is to find a Euphoria/Fairytale kind of song, and you will win!

Last night was great, up until they called for Albania's votes.

I dunno why but the results were really weird. It's like there was no life in the hall, no sound (only when Azerbaijan got points) and it was just kinda depressing. Even the artists looked disinterested when they were getting 12s (apart from Pastora's 12 from Portugal, oddly enough). Was I the only one who noticed this? :?

Anyway, Sweden won fair and square and deservedly so, so congrats to them! I know they're gonna put on a great show for us next year, hopefully with an atmosphere that won't leave a bitter taste in my mouth

Yeah, the atmosphere was awful. I heard it was mostly natives in the hall...if so then that would explain why it sounded like we were at a funeral. Next year will be different.

Not only Azerbaijan, the crowd reacted also when Turkey got points and it was almost as intense as when Azerbaijan got points. Do the Azeris love Turkey only because of religion?

I genuinely thought it was a great final last night. Every song was brilliant - all with their own unique spin. I'm glad Sweden won because they totally deserved it! Norway, UK both had great songs with great performances...I don't anyone deserved to come last as everyone was great!

Yeah, I guess. I dunno why I'm surprised actually, Azeri audiences in their national finals all look like they're struggling to maintain their organs

I agree with what Sean said, it was eerily quiet in the hall.

Did anyone else feel uncomfortable with all the Azeri propaganda? The postcards were all about how wonderful Azerbaijan/Baku is, and no connection whatsoever to the country/singer about to perform. The 3 towers were shown in almost every clip. Many video segments were repeated in several postcards as well. Looking from an outside perspective, it made Azerbaijan look sort of pathetic and like attention seekers. I felt uncomfortable watching the postcards.

In my opinion except of first, results were awful.
Norway is last? United Kingdom, Denmark, Iceland? And Serbia is second with this boring performance? Babushkia is third? Uhh... Italy is not in top 3? France is 22nd?
