What I want, is an up-tempo song and female/male vocalist doing a duet.

Something along the lines of:.

Now that we're pre-qualified something in danish would be cool for a change. Genre doesn't matter.

Would be a nice change, but we all know its unlikely. :( Besides i remember reading somewhere that DR want to make it two wins in a row.

Maybe it's time for a non-English entry to win again then? Last time was 2007...

But yeah, I doubt it, but I'm rooting for a Danish language entry aswell!

Alternatively they could also send a song in German as that has official status in the south of the country (or Greenlandic or Faroese). But we'll end up with English anyway, DR seems to be as oikophobic as the NDR.

Only if It's actually good. A **** song is still **** regardless of what "mystery" it may give by being in a different language. I couldn't care less about language.

Ok, we get it, you made it very clear with the adding of **** that you couldn't care less that Europe isn't just all "English"... but there ARE people out there who appreciate different languages and linguistic diversity in music, and there are people who do understand and HEAR that it DOES make a difference to the music aswell... maybe you're not one of them, but many disagree with this nonchalant attitude towards other languages and towards the soul of this concept. I'm still surprised by the narrow-mindness and EURO-phobia shown by people who call themselves "fans" of EUROvision, but each to their own.

And btw, just because one would like to hear another language than ENGLISH for a change, doesn't mean they would support music they wouldn't like just because it's in native-language (or not support entries they like in English)... atleast I'm not one of them, and since you responded to my comment I guess I should just make that clear (although I've been stating the same on this page everytime people assumed something else or mis-quoted me on this issue).

WHAT? He meant that if a song is BAD, it doesn't matter wether it's in English, or in Danish, or in Scottish, or in Portuguese, or in Japanese, or in Martian, or whatever: it's still a bad song, and it doesn't deserve a good placing!
The same goes for the opposite: a good song is a good song, no matter the language, and deserves a good placing! You completely changed the meaning of what he said!

I understand that and I agree with that (as I wrote in my response), but I never said anywhere that I would support a bad song in native-language just for the sake of having it in native-language, and since the response was directed at my initial comment I wanted to answer it...

But yeah, I do think it's a bit sad how some people are totally indifferent to the use of other languages than English in a contest like ESC, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with you. You just seemed to talk like he had said all non-english songs are bad or something similar.
Anyway, I do support native-language entries, but when listening to them I like them or dislike them wether they're in English or not. On some songs English works, on others native-language works (Sometimes a non-english language really adds to the mystery of a song that is already powerful because of the mystery the song already has in the instrumental part, like "Randajad". Sometimes the lyrics in English are so beautiful and heart-touching that the meaning of it makes me like the song more, and I wouldn't be able to understand it if it was on a foreign language)

I understand and agree with most of what you said. Yeah I know it may have come across as that way and I apologize to QwaarJet for that, I just reacted at the part that sorta came across as if languages doesn't matter at all.

Sorry if I came across as a hater of non-English languages, I certainly didn't intend it. I simply meant I don't care whether a song is in Danish or English, as long as it is good. Some songs suit English, some native languages, some suit something in the middle. That's what great about ESC.

My post was mainly because you say the same thing in every topic about wanting a native language song and I got the impression you just don't want any songs to be in English.

That's fine, I don't think you are I'm just sorta sensitive on this whole issue  When people say that it doesn't matter, then I read as if other languages are totally unimportant.

I know, but thing is, as much as I want native languages to be used, in the end I will always support the entries I like the most regardless of the language used (and you can see this in my annual top. 10's aswell). However, I do react at broadcasters that are obviously biased when it comes to the use of English for instance (DR being one of them), it's like they actively work against entries that use their native language (either not picking any, pick very few or pick entries that stand no chance or are just joke entries in native language so that they can sorta make it look as if the English language ones are better, while in fact it all comes down to their picks... SVT works like this for instance).

Can't wait for DMGP, it's always quite modern and quality festival, but winners suck sometimes, last year was HORRIBLE!! I hope for better one this time..

I didn't like it either but they won so they obviously made the right choice. I haven't liked don't of their entries in years but maybe 2014 will change that.

Like Matt says, they won last year, so It's difficult to argue that it sucked when they clearly made the right choice.
