Re: DENMARK 2014

Danish sounds cool in music, not at all as it does spoken... it flows similar to English... and there's alot of good contemporary (often clubby) Danish music in Danish, so if a Danish ESC entry would represent the actual contemporary music scene it would be more logical for it to be in Danish rather than English.

Medina

Rasmus Seebach

Svenstrup & Vendelboe

Joey Moe

All those songs you found are 2-5 years old - todays danish music

It's terrible.

Imo we should continue giving a young, upcoming artists the chance to represent us. Now that we're pre-qualified I'd like to see us going for something in danish too. As of right now though, I'd kill to see Mø represent us next year. Not only is she insanely talented, she'd also be a breath of fresh air in ESC:

Sadly I don't see MØ as realistic because in a year she will be "to big" for DMGP..

People should know by now that we do not enter well known singers i DMGP... So the Medina, Rasmus Seebach talk should and has to be stopped immediately. I am actually happy that we do not send people like them because I found their music bad.. - So lets make a deal, we stop mentioning them since they are unrealistic or do I have to post this every year? :p

Oh plz, that's hardly what all of today's Danish music sound like... you're trying to make Danish music look worse for the non-Danes in here than it actually is. I don't understand what you try to achieve with it tbh xshrug

Taken directly from your current Singles list chart:

I love this song! Something like this would be good for Denmark :) Also, I'd love for the host nation's song to be in Danish!

How does the MGP song selection work? Can anyone participate or send songs and who decides who's in and who's not?

but they were in the finals regardless, plus winning back to back seemed impossible so taking a risk would be good.

Re: DENMARK 2014

Never, we are doing so well actualy better than well when our artists sings in English

Ehm, you know that you haven't even TRIED to send an entry in Danish since the change of rules right? So you can't really say that for a fact xshrug

And yes, now IS the time to send an entry in Danish!!!

And yes, now IS the time to send an entry in Danish!!!

Denmark 1957 - 1966 + 1978 - 1999
32 times in danish:
1 x 1st place
0 x 2nd place
4 x 3ed place
1 x 4th place
4 x 5th place
Not qualified: 2 x within 10 years
last: never

Denmark 2000 - 2013
14 times in English:
2 x 1st place
1 x 2nd place
0 x 3ed place
1 x 4th place
1 x 5th place
Not qualified for the final: 2 times
last: 1 times

With in 13 years we have won 2 times......... Our songs have never been so much loved by so many in Europe since we entered in 1957....

going back to danish would be stupid.

We will not end up like Pourtugal

So? You won't win twice in a row anyways xshrug

And actually, those statistics aren't that different from eachother so it's hardly proving too much

And time has changed, so has music, so has the voting system in ESC... it's simply not comparable ... and your entry in 1999 was in English btw ;)

I don't get your attitude, this is not just about winning (something you probably won't do in 2014 anyways), now you're hosting and you finally have the chance to actually show some from your actual music scene, and not these fabricated ESC songs you send that are very unattached from Danish music in general xshrug

Re: DENMARK 2014

Not in a million years SOOC

You mean the greatest band in history? I'd die if Lars got the rest to do ESC, but let's not even go there.

As for Danish or English, send whatever the best song happens to be sung in. I'm not too bothered. But Denmark and Sweden always send in English, so I don't really see why that would change, especially after the results of this year's contest, where the top 5 were all in English. I don't go with the argument that they don't want to win 2 in a row. Why not? It would make history and create an amazing moment, with the home act being crowned victor in front of a rabid crowd. They are more likely to achieve that in English. However, there might be one stand out act in DMGP and If it was in Danish, then it must go to Eurovision. The language doesn't matter in that case.

My only real wish is that they don't fall in to the same trap as Sweden and up picking a vanilla number as their host song like Robin. Pick something with the "wow" factor.
