Nice try, especially the first sentece

It should have been:

Σε ευχαριστώ Κύπρος για όλα αυτά τα υπέροχα τραγούδια. Θα μου λείψεις.

In the second sentence, you wrote instead that Cyprus will miss you. ;)

Grammatic still killing me lool. But now I am more based on learning the words

Such a double standard person, he says many times that he's against most of the winners and results, but then he values the contribution of a country in ESC just in numbers of qualifications to the final.

OMG  It was you that came up with the 'general opinion' thing, personally I could not care less whether my or anyone else's tastes fit in with the mainstream and of course you knew that. It is about time to lay aside your nasty attitude now.

WHAAAT????

If this trends continues I wonder if ESC 2014 is still there....

I'm so sad. Cyprus is part of the golden Eurovision history and they usually have great entries. Also, almost all the withdrawing countries are southerns. A big loss to diversity and I expect an Eurovision with much less soul in Copenhagen xcry

First he says that the withdrawal of a country that takes part in ESC for so many years is not a big loss, and then he tells me to lay aside my nasty attitude. Fortunately, people here have eyes and see who has a nasty attitude.

Very sad news once again. We could be getting into a situation where the semi finals are a farce,10 qualify 3 don't.

The EBU have announced that ESC is being shown in China etc now so their royalties are growing. They need to start working out some way to help countries enter with some of this money.

Perhaps EBU should be booking up full hotels and paying for so many from a delegations accommodation. This might help people at least enter, even if low key.

For all those who complain about the big 5 this is another reminder why ESC needs them so badly. Its their money that stops this being even more expensive for smaller countries.

A sad day for ESC that's for sure.

Very sad decision and Cyprus will be missed in te contest for sure. But I can understand them - almost all broadcasters in the Balkan-Mediterranean area have significant financial troubles. The same situation is in Greece, Serbia, Slovenia, Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Albania. Most of the public broadcasters in our region are under treat and EBU should do something.

Perhaps these countries need to launch Kickstarter campaigns.

Say they have Euro 150k but need 300k they could launch a Kickstarter campaign.

Rewards like a dinner date with the artist.Named as executive producer etc.Im sure ESC fans would get behind such campaigns.Who knows how many ESC fand might pledge a few Euros etc and be enough.

Mainly countries of South Europe.
Ebu knew that this would happen.
Two years in a row for Scandinavia? (and also swedish song in 2011),and Germany in 2010,Norway 2009,Russia 2008.

No big loss. :p

Haha, I must agree on this, but at the same time it's truly tragic for the Cypriot fans. xrosexrose
Hope it just will be a temporary situation for you. 2012 was quite a success for Cyprus where Ivi Adamou's La La Love became a summer-hit all over Europe, e.g. chartered @ 16 in Sweden's official list.

Tbh I´m not the biggest fan of Cyprus´ recent ESC-entries (except 2012 xheart ), but it´s sad, that Cyprus won´t participate in Copenhagen next year.

I doubt that money is only reason for so many withdrawals this year
