Gosh, so many hateful comments. Non-mainstream people are never understood among the crowds. :( But did you really expect Nina to wear a nice, shiny, regular, blue dress? Have you ever thought that not everyone like it mainstream and regular?

However, everyone should calm down. She confirmed in the interview for Wiwibloggs that the dress after 1st chorus will be white and will reflect light.

I think that the performance definitely didn't ruin any chances for :hr: to reach the final, maybe even the opposite (we're still to see the biggest part of the performance). If it flops in the semifinal, I say it would flop no matter what.

Stay in denial. This is exactly the kind of attitude that leads to floppage. And yes, it will flop, and not because it would "flop no matter what", but because Nina and her team made every wrong decision possible and don't seem to be willing to change anything based on feedback.

Exactly. This is giving me Israel 2013 vibes and we all know how Israel ended in the semi. In the end of the day, Eurovision is a TV show that is seen by a lot people from different backgrounds who mostly see the songs for the first time at the semis and you have only 3 minutes to make real people to waste real money in order to vote for you. And Croatia doesn't really have a lot of "friends" in the semi too.

We need to take into consideration every detail while analyzing the given materials (pictures of the 1st outfit, a short snippet etc.) in order to be objective.I'm from Croatia and I absolutely love Nina, loved her since her performances on The Voice and from the first day I knew that she was meant for Eurovision.Ligthouse is an excellent song but since this semi is so hard, the staging must be perfect.

Firstly, the first dress is pointless. Not only that dress change belongs to the 90s/early 2000s but it's also an over-the-top kimono which can only do harm to her image & the overall performance.
Secondly, what I saw in the background wasn't that bad but they could've used A LOT more from the stage, the graphics & the technical stuff.I don't know what the 2nd dress holds, maybe it will save the whole performance but I won't make any assumptions.
And then we come to the backing vocalists.I get that they clearly didn't know what they were doing in that video because it's the 1st rehearsal (it's supposed to be like that) but again, I don't have much faith into their part of the staging.Hope they don't distract the attention from Nina and her voice.

My prediction is that "Lighthouse" will most likely qualify but right now I don't see it in the top 3 of the semi (even though I want it to be in top 3).Let's hope that they will improve on the second rehearsal and that the other dress will save something.

Jeeeeeesus people.... it's not that bad though. Sure that Kimono thing looks kinda creepy but the song is still amazing! She's going to qualify with ease :geek:

Love the song, and honestly, Nina would be fine without any gimmicks. I'm afraid she might be remembered for all the wrong reasons if this dress doesn't pull through.

I wasn't online yesterday so I will echo what most probably a 100+ people already said - that dress needs to go.
This song needs NO gimmicks. The voice and maybe a powerful visual background will do.

I dare say this will be a non-qualifier at this rate, with the Netherlands after it being given a strong boost.

I find it strange that people can make their judgment based on 20 seconds preview of the first rehearsal. For me, it is not fair to say "this is so bad", "this is too much", "pointless", etc. based on no more than 20 seconds of something that in reality lasts 3 minutes. I think of what people say and how it sounds when it's taken out of context - it can often sound stupid, crazy or just confuses you completely. But in the right context, it makes perfect sense. So I choose to wait for 10th of May with an open mind...

Based on what she said about the dress in the interview for wiwibloggs, I think few of us can imagine what have they actually prepared for that day. It seems that this is only a small part of the dress and maybe even that piece we saw will look completely different once it's connected to that 18 kg heavy dress and when everything works how it's suppose to.

And about the back vocalists - I'm sure they won't look as lost on the night of the 1st semi. They are on this stage for the first time and they have to adapt, so this "the dress is in our way, what to do" and them looking lost in general is fixable and it is a good thing it happened on the rehearsal and not on the performance night - now they can work to make sure that does not happen again. That's what rehearsal are for. Nina admitted herself in the interview for wiwibloggs that they are aware that it didn't work well with that part and with the back vocalists and that they'll have to improve that. I believe they can make it work. I'll judge when I see the whole performance. :D

We ,may not be able to watch the whole performance, but there are plenty of people who are and they happen to be reporting what they see. Haven't seen a soul who is happy about it, so it really isn't that pointless right?

Also, let's face it: it's not only about the dress. I don't know how we came to this, but truth is her singing isn't really quite there, is it?

No, I actually saw in some video from ESCKAZ a guy actually said: "I like the song more after seeing the rehearsal". And again - they report on what they see, but Nina said they are saving the most important part as a surprise. The rehearsal wasn't revealing too much of their performance. Her singing is awesome, her voice is very strong and the way she controls her voice is amazing. That is what I hear and that same thing told the professionals during the Voice. She's one of the best vocalists on Eurovision this year. You may not like it, but objectively - her vocal capabilities cannot be denied.

It's my favourite song this year and I love her voice.... I have also watched several videos from the voice of croatia and found her great. Truth is I have been feeling a bit disapointed over her last performances and I wasn't too happy with the rehearsal either. Of course I only got to listen to the snippet. I had the impression however reports weren't that great. Glad to know the ESC Kaz man felt it differently :)

And this is how the rest of the press voted yesterday. Yeah, Croatia did really well.

With a heavy heart, I have to say that I think Nina might stay in semi. :( I hope I'm wrong though.

Here it is, from 2:29

I watched the video again, and it turns out he even says that he didn't like the song before the rehearsal. :D I wasn't happy with her performance in Serbia, but she was great in Amsterdam and even better in London. So I actually think that she's improving with each performance. This rehearsal had some difficulties but I'm optimistic that it will turn out good in the end. :D

Well I didn't say that the rehearsal was awesome. What I said is that there is more to the actual staging than they could see on that rehearsal and that some people actually liked it because i anixi said that none of the press liked it. I think I proved my point well.

I'm a bit afraid it will have the same faith as Maaraya from Slovenia last year! :?

Plus Maaraya was stronger live as it seems based on Nina's rehearsal and performances in Amsterdam..

I still ADORE studio version and video, so I hope she will be brilliant on the night of semi and final..

I trust the guys from escunited, and they seemed to have liked Nina's performance. From what I've been able to hear in this video, I would prefer if the backing vocalists were not as loud in that final chorus so Nina's voice doesn't get lost in them.

Kimono will be on for 30 seconds y'all... Besides after seeing yesterday's semi 1 rehearsals I'm more confident that Nina won't have any problems unlike Samra. :')
